Always and Forevermore

A romantic poem

By Rasma RaistersPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Life goes on, always and forever, like a fast flowing river –

moving on toward the sea. Always and forever, you promised me -

when you said I love you. Life goes on, it never seems to stop,

when you are weary. It would be so good, if love could also stretch to eternity.

Like the seasons, ever changing, bringing you life challenges –

but keeping love constant. Years roll on, calendar pages turn,

the fires of love burn, no matter how many years have passed by.

Poets do it with inspiration, songwriters with melody, writers with romantic words

and artists with their paint brushes.

They all express love, in many different ways, emotions like flowers,

burst forth in the spring. All I can do is hold your hand, share tender kisses

and reflect our love for one another – by the gazes we share. On and on,

we can go, but along the way life’s threads can unravel, the light of love can dim

and someone gets left behind.

Always and forever, I promised my love true, life kept me on the roadway,

while it ended for you. I know your love light, will continue shining brightly in my heart,

just wish that we could still be together, always and forevermore.
