The Spice with Power Is Ginger
History of Ginger As with most things, even ginger has a fascinating history that stretches back more than 5000 years. It was considered to be a tonic root that could take care of all kinds of ailments by the ancient Chinese and Indians. The origins of ginger can be found in Southeast Asia. India exported this spice to Ancient Rome. Once the Roman Empire came to an end the Arabs took over the spice trade from the east. Unfortunately during this time ginger became an expensive spice. It showed up in medieval times and was imported in a preserved form and used in the making of sweets.

Loving Those Golden Arches

With no matter to all the plastic around us we give our order and wait for the delicious food to arrive. Then find a table and throw ourselves onto a plastic seat and start enjoying our meal. McDonald’s food is enjoyed by many each and every day, but imagine how much more we would enjoy the experience if the atmosphere around us was different.

In the Caribbean
Bahamas Conch salad is among the popular dishes in the Bahamas. The main ingredient is conch, a shell fish whose population is unfortunately depleting in the Caribbean seas. To make the salad you add chopped tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and a marinade prepared with goat pepper (a local hot pepper), lime, and orange juice. This mixture partially cooks the raw white conch meat. A tropical version of this salad includes apples, pineapples, and mango.
