Do you believe in ghosts?. Top Story - February 2025.
Disclaimer: My American/Canadian/International friends, I apologise in advance for tempting you with a British TV/radio programme that you probably won't be able to watch/listen to. It could be that there is some way that you can access this. Perhaps the BBC will allow Netflix to have the TV rights like they did "Happy Valley". If you do get a chance to watch it, do. You won't be disappointed.

The Lady of the Lake. Honorable Mention in Legends Rewritten Challenge.
I am made of water. I am not the Lady of the Lake. There is no separation there, no division of type. I am the Lake. I am water. I can take human form but only because I choose to. Then, my presence is discernible for the creature who stands before me to know me on their own terms of reference.

Rachel Reviews: Ruby by Jack Heape
Ruby is a lovely book in every aspect. It has a message but its educational purpose does not overshadow the storytelling so it's not preachy: it is a tale of friendship and courage and how with the right support, great things are possible even though they seem insurmountable at first.

Fear in a Box. Top Story - January 2025.
I recently had an experience which has made me thoughtful and reflective (and all of those introspective adjectives) and I wrote about it on here. I actually dressed it up as a story, which was a little naughty of me. The reason for doing it was two-fold: I wanted it to read like fiction rather than a first person account; and the distance of the third-person created a detachment to the events that I sort of felt at the time and sort of didn't.

The King's Horse
I want to create a moment that will change everything. To date, I have been unsuccessful. I don't give up hope. I will never give up hope. It is the raw material around which the steel of my armour has been wrought. It is at the core of my resolve, it is the fabric of my purpose, my goal to gain a clearer voice for women, and I will not relinquish it.

Roadside Recovery
She'd had a lovely day. It was not often that she did lunch anymore. There was something about eating out in the middle of the day that spoke of leisure and luxury. Having the time to do this was the territory of the privileged. This wasn't grabbing a pre-packaged sandwich, trapped behind a plastic window or a made-to-spec sub roll.
