An Unkindness of Ravens
Blackthorn the Raven sat upon its dark wintry perch watching the snowflakes fall. They shimmered, twirled and slid off the leafless tree branches like ballerinas trying desperately to find a foothold. Tiny wildlife skittered amidst the dark and white of the colorless, yet oddly beautiful landscape, much like an artistic picturesque canvas painted in graphic, barren black and white. The day shone in eerie starkness to the gloomy sunless skies.

Two lines of code inside a computer having an earnest conversation. Have you already invested? Vocal asked hopefully. I tried my best, but some misunderstandings have left me extremely flabbergasted. My investment is still pending, probably not gonna happen right now. I answered, feeling deflated and a bit sad.

"Thanksgiving (French: Action de grâce) or Thanksgiving Day (French: Jour de l'Action de grâce), is an annual Canadian holiday and harvest festival, held on the second Monday in October, which celebrates the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Outside of the country, it may be referred to as Canadian Thanksgiving to distinguish it from the American holiday of the same name and related celebrations in other regions.

When the African ancestors arrived in the United States, they developed trusting, open relationships with the Native Americans. They joined their knowledge and traditions and flourished from the gift of understanding of the powers of the native plants.

Aunt Mary's Christmas fruit cake
My Aunt Mary is the kindest soul you will ever meet on this earth, besides my mother, rest her soul. She lived in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn N.Y. for forty years, and absolutely refused to move or allow anyone to relocate her. Yet that tiny apartment has seen more love and kindness than any palace or mansion could ever accommodate. She just kept on giving and giving until only an act of nature could uproot her. During the Coronavirus outbreak, she was forced to leave and go live with her daughter.

Both had come here early, to this lovely place, fully expecting greatness to pour from their fingertips, as they prepared to compose and entice fanciful creations of pure, lucid, intoxicating awe and wonderment.

Unfair game played twice
I watched him as he walked into the bar. He was not very tall, not short either, maybe five eight, quite handsome and just a tiny bit rugged in a tortured sort of way. He looked around, weighing the room, I could tell he was trouble with a capital T. His uncertain demeanor, his mode of dress completely gave away the fact that he did not come here often, did not get out much, was my initial intuitive inner thought.
