A Perfect Storm
This week I had an absolutely awful day mentally. One day I was chatting with friends and Vocal friends on Facebook , working and chatting with work colleagues then my Friend Krista asked me for help moving a table so I had a couple of hours with her and her friends , and for the first time in my life actually went into the Byker Wall.

Home
A very short poem about how I see the concept of home and how it should provide a virtual sanctuary away from the pressures of life outside that bubble. With the lockdowns and covid that has become even more important for us to deal with the pressures of life.

Days
In my current job I am a very small cog in the system , but small cogs make a difference if they do not work. I provide support to the finance department and we are constantly having to extend our remit of what we do , regulating organisations to benefit everyone in our nation. I donβt want to say who I work for , my friends obviously do, but I started here about six years ago after finishing with a job based forty miles away.

Heart As Big As Liverpool
Around 1980 I started my job as a computer programmer for Littlewoods in Liverpool. My programming mentor Dave Homan told me he had a mate called Pete Wylie an a band called Wah! Heat who had released a single called βSeven Minutes To Midnightβ about the Doomsday Clock.

Warmth
Yesterday I picked up a book of poems by Jah Wobble (real name John Wardle , but nickname came about cos John Lydon couldnβt pronounce his name) called "Odds & Sods & Epilogues" , and he had written a sonnet in a format that differed to the standard one that I have been using. In fact it is three quatrains and a couplet each line containing only five syllables , which caused me problems as I have been writing my sonnets in a vague iambic pentameter.

On My Desert Island
My friend Krista published her Desert Island Discs selection on Facebook here, (you will need to be logged into Facebook to see it) and has such inspired me to do one. I thought I best read the concept of what it is, though I roughly knew it, but here's a definition:
