Criticizing the Cultural Mosaic. Top Story - November 2025.
In many western countries the promotion of cultural acceptance has become intertwined with the strong encouragement of groups and communities to maintain and cultivate their differences. Terminology such as the “Cultural Mosaic” in Canada, celebrates this mentality. The concept of the Cultural Mosaic, in which each culture remains distinct, and the pushing of individuals to maintain their “uniqueness” have become synonymous with the concept of multiculturalism, when in fact they are not.

Do Your Adult Children Like Spending Time With You?
Many parents, who have otherwise healthy relationships with their adult children, complain that their children get snippy and irritable when they spend significant amounts of time together. Alternatively, they don’t understand why their adult children seem to only spend calculated amounts of time with them, or refrain from sharing aspects of their life with them.

Book Review Services - A Comparison
Recently, I independently re-published a book that was originally published in 2020 with a small publisher. Sadly, what happens when you re-publish a book is that it doesn’t actually replace the other version – it is published as a new edition. This means that the book loses all its previously acquired reviews on websites such as amazon. While I’m all for getting organic reviews, if you’ve ever tried to build up your book reviews you know how hard it is to get those first dozen. Once you get a dozen or so reviews, they begin to keep trickling in but for some reason no one wants to be in that first batch.

Attracting a Creep Doesn't Make All Men Creeps
After years of academic research there is little that annoys me more than horrible social media posts, claiming to be research — when in fact they are a compilation or terrible anecdotes. Lately, there’s a lot of this type of “research” by men about women, and by women about men.

I'm Emotionally Healthy...So Why Aren't I Attracting Healthy People?
We’ve all heard cliché lines about the laws of attraction. Usually they are in the vein of “If you’re confident you will attract confident people”, “if you are happy, you will attract happy people,” etc.…

The 2025 Fashion Disasters
We look at old pics from the 1950’s and marvel at how classy and cool the fashions of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly or Cary Grant still appear to this day. Then we look at pics from the 1980s and do a combo of cringe-snort-laugh.

The North American Cultural Concepts We Should Improve
I consider Canada my home, however, I have spent significant amounts of time studying, working and living in other countries. My ‘foreign stints’ include: Germany for part of my undergrad degree, teaching at University in Seoul, Korea, and working in Abu Dhabi and Milan. While I’ve visited many other countries as well, the above are what I consider deeper, cultural experiences during which I made local friendships and became part of that country’s mainstream life.

Going to Cuba - 2025
I am not a resort person, however, Cuba is a place that is difficult to visit without going through a resort. While I have heard it is possible to do from Canada (where I am), it is complex, and from many other countries, it’s not possible at all to get a flight to Cuba without a resort package.

Reasons for Closing, or Simply Not Opening a Relationship
People often feel very passionate about ENM (Ethical Non-Monogamy) — whether passionately for, or passionately against it. Due to this, ENM focused articles are often very one-sided, making ENM sound like the cure-all for relationships, or the poison that will destroy all couples. I don’t subscribe to either mindset.

A Salem Love Letter
You will not read this letter in this lifetime. Those who do, will burn it. I write it nonetheless, for what my soul speaks to me is truth and perhaps setting the truth free from my soul, to let it bleed into the ink that stain these pages, will allow it to slowly heal this place full of lies.
