Five Signs That Told Me My Marriage Was All Over.
I guess that there a great many signs my life was heading for the rocks long before the painful slaps in the face woke me up to what was going on behind my back. It's just that the early indications can be so infinitesimally small that you just don't notice them. Of course, holding down a full time job and co caring for three young children is more than enough to distract your attention and tire you out to the point of diminishing your attention to your relationship with your other half.

Today I Saw The Pearly Gates Of Heaven
Like everybody else I sometimes wonder about my own imminent demise. Will it be from old age, if I'm lucky? Or maybe it will be from some horrid disease, I sincerely hope not. Perhaps it will be an accident of some sort. This afternoon it came frighteningly close to the latter.

Strange Meeting On A Park Bench On My Birthday
It was a stunningly beautiful Autumn day, the azure blue sky acting like a blank canvas on which nature had decided to paint a masterpiece full of vibrant natural colours. A mosaic, leaf-confetti littered pathway led off to a vanishing point far off in the distance. On both sides, lines of skeleton trees, devoid of their summer foliage, stood like sentinels guarding the pathway to heaven. To each side mid-life evergreens acted as a natural bulwark to protect the open parkland behind.

The Wild Life On Your Door Step
When I first saw the title of this challenge 'Capture the Wild' I was quite attracted to the theme. The only problem was that I lived very far from any notable wild life, or at least I thought I did. One thing I have come to realise is that no matter where you live, there is always some form of notable wildlife a lot closer than you think, like right on your doorstep or even inside your house. In my case I even had a close encounter in my bed!

The Office Part 3
During my time working at the office I learned one thing, you never knew what was going to come through the front door next. I do think a large part of what went on was due to the fact that it was an all male salesforce. Put fifteen men in a room for the day and lock the front door and for sure fun and games would happen in spades.

The Office Part 2
As I said in Part 1 of this story, the office was the funniest place I ever worked. I do think that some of the shenanigans that went on was the cold call salesforce's way of dealing with the occupational stress that was a constant daily, if not hourly, occurrence.

I sat at my desk on the back wall facing the entrance of the huge open plan room that served as an office for fifteen to twenty cold call tele/field salesmen. Behind me was an enormous mirror which allowed my boss who sat opposite me with his back to the front door to see who was coming in.

A Truly Shocking Dog Story
Ever since I was a kid I have been an animal lover, especially dogs. The great thing about dogs is that they love you forever and are always happy to see you. They don't throw a moody for no good reason. What's more, they don't cheat or lie or set out to decieve you in any way shape of form. If they do do something bad, like crap on your favourite rug, they always own up by showing their guilt. So what you have in a dog is a faithful friend for life, which is not always the case with their human counterparts. Having said all that, dogs can sometimes unwittingly be the cause of a great deal of pain.

Success Is All Down To One Thing
The auditorium for the annual sales convention was full to the rafters. Two thousand sales professionals had gathered to honour the company's best performers in sales. In particular, there was one man who everybody wanted to hear. The guys name was Ted Newheart, but company wide he was known as 'Golden Bollocks'. The man earned half a million dollars a year in commission with no basic to fall back on should he one day underperform.

Count Your Blessings More And Your Curses Less
Life can be very hard at times, and sometimes we develop the habit of dwelling far too much upon what has befallen us. I must confess I am as guilty of this as the next person. However, this morning, sat in the mid morning sun on my customary perch on the porch, as I vacantly gazed at the field of green shoots of new spring crops on the farm next door, I felt somewhat more optimistic. It has been a hard year for me, as it no doubt has been for a great many others, and yet there has also been so much to be thankful for.
