How My Father Invented Flying
Over the years I have come to realise that my father was a man of many hidden talents. Yes, he had his faults, a bet on the horses, a drink with the lads….However, on the plus side, he wasn’t a bad man, though he didn’t suffer fools gladly. And that is exactly how he came to invent flying with electricity.

The Enigmatic Estrangement From Reality
There isn't a day that goes by without me thinking about my four estranged children. In particular, my youngest son, by my second ex-wife. The last time I saw him was in the Spring of 2014, when he was just thirteen years old. I have had no contact since and know very little of where he is or what he is up to.

How to soar like an Eagle
I chanced upon a nice little story today on Facebook, about how you can soar like an eagle or quack like a duck. What to soar like an eagle actually means is, you should always go the extra mile. And the more I read it, the more I realised that trying to soar like an eagle is something I have been doing all of my life, in business and in my personal life.

Falling In Love With A Nurse
Having spent three months in a hospital last year with a broken hip and leg, there were one or two closely connected issues I was not expecting. Fortunately for me, I have a very knowledgeable and understanding wife who works in a hospital.

A World of Difference in Japan
Having come to live permanently in Japan a few short years ago, one of the many things that struck me was what a well-ordered, law-abiding, peace- loving nation the Japanese are. This is in stark contrast to one or two other places where I have lived, like Spain for example.

Dealing With The Devil
The residential institute was owned and run by a psychopath called John Sichel. He had an impressive record according to Wiki, but I was singularly unimpressed with his manner. I had booked in for a two-week course in film and tv (costing 500 pounds sterling) but after the first week, I was forced to leave due to this man’s scarily threatening manner towards me, for absolutely no good reason at all.

Where It's Christmas Every Morning
On the 22nd of November 2021, I fell off my bike and landed in the hospital. It's taken me sixty-seven years to make that trip, having never spent more than the odd night in a hospital. I guess that means I have had a blessed life. I certainly didn't feel very blessed as I lay writhing on the wet tarmac the afternoon I fell. I was in so much pain I couldn't even find the energy to curse myself with anger. It is only now I can sit and look back at what happened.

Narcissism Is Murder
My headline for this story was going to be 'How To Get Over Narcissistic Abuse.' However, I'm not sure you do get over it, ever. In a way, that is because, even close to thirty years after the fact, I feel like certain parts of my past life seem to be on constant playback. And many times the best I can do is try to look away from the big internal screen and engage my traumatised mind with some other, happier past experience.
