And In The End...
One day in the far distant future, this planet called Earth that we all live on will become totally uninhabitable. It has been estimated that the Earth has a life expectancy of about eight billion plus years, and already we are halfway through it. This means that the planet has about four and a half billion years to go before it explodes into nothing more than space dust. However, don't think for one moment that we humans will go all the way to the wire. Our time here will have been extinguished long before we get anywhere near the wire.

What Happened When I Gave A Helping Hand To Somebody
Life is long. It is also, at times, very difficult to get through it and come out the other end unscathed. The harsh fact is that anybody who lives long enough to become old for sure has more than a few battle scars to show for it. And now I am at the wrong end of life, ie I have many more years behind me than I have ahead of me, I can tell you one of the hardest parts of life that we have to deal with is our personal relationships, as well as how we deal with the less personal ones.

It's A Good Life If You Want It
I was going to headline this story with 'How I Became Mortgage Free'. But as I only did so by losing everything including my house, I thought it might be seen as me being deceptive. Anyway, it is really a story about making the best of a lousy hand and ending up with a happy smile.

We All Came From Outer Space
Like many enquiring minds, a subject that has often crossed my thought processes is the question of where did we come from. Over time there have been a great many claims, some religious, others scientific. None of the claims have ever been conclusively proven. And, in an effort to put forward my own solution to this problem, this brings me to yet another unproven subject, the Fermi Paradox.

And Tonight's News Is...The News
It is deliciously ironic that the BBC Tv news of tonight was all about, the BBC Tv news. In case you haven't noticed, it has recently come out that News At Ten anchor man, Huw Edwards, has been accused of some pretty serious offenses of a sexual nature.

How An Apple A Day Can Drive You Nuts
Being of the Boomer Generation, I can easily lay claim to being something of a technophobe, though I do my best to try to understand the new technology. And don't forget all you Millenials, it was my generation that invented the bloody stuff, to begin with. Anyway...

The Story of the Story of The Girl in the White Dress
As a long-established writer and teacher of writing and English, I always try to cover all the bases when it comes to teaching others the ropes. That being said, there is something about writing I simply can not teach anybody, and that is because I do not fully understand it myself. It is a mystery about writing, as deep as the mystery of The Girl in the White Dress itself.

How I Won The Vocal Media Challenge
Let me make one thing clear, I did not win the Vocal Media Micro-fiction Heist Challenge, though I did enter no less than twelve heist stories. The closest I got to winning any sort of recognition was appearing in a review section called 'All the great submissions.' However, I still feel very much like a winner, and here is why.

The Bumpy Road To Carnal Knowledge
I remember my very first date for all the wrong reasons. At the time what happened was nothing less than a temporary attack of stupidity that was acutely embarrassing for a gawky teenager. Now I look back upon what happened with a good deal of humor.
