Sometimes A Song Changes Your Life
My parents gave me my first turntable when I was four years old, so it is safe to say that music has always played a big role in my life. It was a real turntable, too! Not some toy. I cannot tell you how much vinyl I ran the needle through over the years! I got my first ever record in 1964 (I was four years old) as a party favor. It was “Love Me Do” by The Beatles, and those four-year-old little girl ears were never ever the same. Never ever the same. I fell in love.

Making it Up...
I pretty much knew all my life that I would be a writer. I had my first nationally published poem when I was 14 years old in 1974. Trust me, it was awful, but someone saw something in it. Work is Not Supposed to Hurt
Workplace Bullies: Are you a victim of one of these cretins? Meghan, a marketing coordinator for a pharmaceutical distributing company in Chicago was well-liked and appreciated by her colleagues and supervisors until a new marketing manager was brought in to develop a marketing strategy. Almost immediately, Meghan's projects were eliminated or the new manager took them over and claimed credit for them. He intentionally kept her out of the loop regarding meetings and sales calls. He enjoyed making rude comments about women in front of Meghan saying things like "Women are only good for seven years and then you have to replace them." After six years of glowing reviews, Meghan was laid off six months after the new manager came on board.

Don't Piss Off (or Piss On) A Texas Woman
As a rideshare driver of almost seven years, I do not carry a gun – concealed or otherwise, not only because it is against company policy, but it is also against my own moral code. But I am not completely unprotected. I have some pepper spray and a baseball bat. I have never used the pepper spray, but I have used the bat. Yes, I most certainly have used the bat.
