Dear Ancestors
Dear Ancestors, I’m sorry that we never had a chance to meet, but I am your descendant. My given babe is Joseph Daniel Patterson III. I put a lot of emphasis on saying my given name because I don’t know my true name, only the name that was given to you and your offsprings that became my lineage. Some of you were fortunate enough to gain freedom. Some of you were not and because of this I wanted to write you a letter chronicling the state of Black people since our liberation.

A Brighter Day
Robin woke up on Friday morning and sat at the end of his bed thinking about the last couple of months. “Been a hell of a season” he thought out loud. “Just loss the woman I loved after she left me high and dry, I’m still recovering from a stab wound to the hip after trying to break up a fight and now my uncle Ron is in his last days after a 15 year bout with cancer. Guess it’s time to do like my therapist suggested and take a long thought provoking walk down Lakemill Road. Me and Tessa used to walk there a lot for our Saturday night dates.”

Fear Fest 2025
As a big nerd it has been a tradition for me to attend all things convention every year since 2019. Last weekend on May 24th for the first time ever I attended the convention known as Fear Fest in Raleigh, North Carolina, just an hour and some change away from where I live. Fear Fest is the horror movie version of Comic Con and my journey to it is actually an interesting one if I say so myself.

Beulah’s Goodbye
Dear Grey Pony Lounge, It is with little regret that I have to inform you all that I am resigning from my position as head stripper after 50 years of working your poles. Now if you wanted me to explain why exactly it is that I am resigning after 50 long years, well I would need about 50 years to do such, so I’ll just go over a few key points.
