What Word Inspires Your Goals For 2025?
Last week on a thread in Queer Vocal Voices, we asked you to list one word that drives, inspires, or motivates you to work on your goals for 2025. That word is the cornerstone of the challenge. (That is fine if you haven’t listed a word in that thread. Just choose a word that inspires, drives, or motivates you to complete your goals.) Queer Vocal Voices is a separate group for LGBTQIA+ creators on Vocal. It can be found here:

What's Going On With J. Delaney-Howe?. Top Story - December 2024.
This piece will be slightly different from what I usually write, although there hasn't been much writing. I'm just going to share some things that have been going on in my life: things I am feeling and concerned about. There will be plenty of run-on sentences, and that's okay. This piece isn't for grammar technicality. I may bounce around a little bit, but it will always come together at the end. So, will this probably be a one-sided conversation? I don't know what it is, and it doesn't matter. This is my story of the last 6 months of my life, good and bad. So stick with me- this could be a good ride!

Accurate Representation. Runner-up in Represented Challenge.
I remember sitting in my parents’ living room when I was in my early teen years. I don’t remember the age, but it was around that time in my life. I was watching an MTV show about HIV. In the show, two men kissed and hugged and held hands. That was the first time in my life I pondered my sexuality. It brought me peace, that other people can love openly and without shame. Seeing physical affection between two men on a tv screen made me realize that is what I wanted.

We Want You!
About six months ago, a few of us created the Facebook group Queer Vocal Voices. Our goal was to create a space to prioritize and feature work on Vocal by queer creators. (In this sense, Queer is an umbrella term for anyone that falls in the LGBTQIA+ category)

Loud Silence. Top Story - June 2024.
My life is somewhat stressful right now. Actually, my husband and I are somewhat stressed right now. With the usual stresses of work, finances, and life, my mother-in-law has terminal cancer and is fading fast. At the time of this writing, she is stable, and we have help from cousins to see her, spend time with her, and help with her care.
