Stop Being Afraid of Yourself
I resign from being afraid of my talents, feeling like I was never good enough to succeed, all I ever heard from people was, “What will you do, if you don’t win that competition? If it’s not making money, why are you doing it? I wasn’t able to do it, so what makes you think you can? The truth is, “I am not like you, I am me, and I know what I am capable of achieving and doing. If I don’t win, it’s not because I wasn’t enough, it was because there was someone out there with a smarter idea and that’s okay”.

Becoming a better version of me.
In addition to continuing to write about what interests me, and attempt to win a challenge to earn extra income to support myself. My goals for 2024 with Vocal, are above all, to encourage other writers to write about what they love, and to pursue their passion of writing. The purpose of Vocals’ challenges, are to inspire writers to improve their writing techniques, to enjoy the topics they are writing about, and enjoy the audiences they are writing for, rather than solely focusing on winning.

The Shining Light
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. She didn't know anything about the outside world, but she could sneak a peek of it via the window of his chamber. She looked out the window and saw a gorgeous blue sky with white clouds passing by; the glass had a tiny gap in the corner. Esmeralda, as she was also known, heard the kids laughing and playing off in the distance. She could see them running on the hillside covered in green grass and hear the birds singing to one another. She ate and drank every day, but she would always remember that this room formerly belonged to him. Then the vault opened and served her food, a casserole with rice and water. She sits in this room for her own mental health because her husband, who was imprisoned for a terrible crime and later committed suicide. Esmeralda had not left the compound in the last five years due to her inability to deal with the deaths of her husband and her mother, who passed away in the same room.
