Fire; A cautionary tale
The California mountain was on fire. Each spark flew into the sky like it was desperate to escape. It looked like lave pouring from a volcano. Yet it moved like a tsunami. All the animals had sense fled. The people a little slower in leaving. She stood on the balcony, mesmerized. The only thing she knew for sure was her world was disappearing beneath the flames. Before it could reach the city edge a few blocks from her. A hand grabbed her arm and carried her to a car. Which drove off with the high wind tailing behind. The little girl scrambled towards the back window. She kept watching, unsure why she felt the need.

A taste of Colorado's Seasons
Every year it seems to blend into one day. At least most of the time. It’s hard to remember what happened when. But thank goodness for the season. Without them, we wouldn’t live long on earth. I have noticed the different seasons that often pass by, regardless. Although in Colorado, we seem to have 2, 3 each year.

Perfect spots for Inspiration
Everyone seems to have a favorite spot in their house. A place you will often find them. A certain room or piece of furniture they are in on a day-to-day basis. Writers often do for a variety of reasons. Most of what they claim is true for them. Honestly, it’s whatever helps the words flow. They claim it helps with the flow of words. Or it’s a nice getaway from the day-to-day judge of the world.

Lack of motivation
One thing I have noticed in my life as a writer is a severe lack of motivation. Not to mention discipline. Ugh!!! I’m not too fond of those words sometimes. I really wish those words didn’t exist, and we could go about our merry lives in bliss.

Childhood woes
There comes a time in our lives where we have to come face to face with our childhoods. No matter the walks of life we are in. And learning to live with the after-effects is sometimes the hardest thing to do. I have been on a said journey lately. And while I wouldn’t know, it was a walk in the park, except maybe Jurassic Park. I have figured and learned things about myself that have helped me understand my parents. Also understanding my husband, which has strengthened our marriage. And what they went through. And causes quite a change, especially relationship-wise.

Kisses, Cuddles, Belly Rubs
About 5 years ago, we adopted a dog. She is a timid, yet sweet old fart, but her puppy came out after she warmed up to us. Her coat, although graying in spots, is a beautiful dark gold. Heck, she looks like a fox in dog form. Even down to the fluffy tail. Which is the main reason she’s named foxie, Not mini Millie, that was the name she had before we got her.

Begin your thousand step journey
There’s just something about the first day of the month, the day of a job or new project. Or even better, the first day of a new life as a married couple, or starting college for the first time. It is so catching and hopeful. It’s so full of promise and trust. It seems as if the heavens open up, and shine on just us for that single moment. And what we do with it depends on us. But it is nice to have a start with everything. I will admit knowing where to start can be difficult in some circumstances. Often we find ourselves ready to take on the world, with a lot of firsts. It can be beautiful and, yet toxic at the same time. How we keep that good momentum going is all up to us.

A Future worth planning for
It’s an often asked question not only in job interviews but also in the business world. At least one of them, the other being what are you doing. Whenever I used to come across this question. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? It is a hard question to answer; I got so stumped.
