My Goal Is To Celebrate Fifty Years Of Long Term Recovery
I am a woman in long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol. I work a one-day at a time program. I have had lots of one days. With many celebrations in the time I have already been in recovery! 50 is a good goal though, don't you think? Not many people reach 50 years of recovery.

When Your Child, Your Sibling Or Friend Has Covid What Do You Do?
My brother died in March of 2021 with covid. Most of our seven children have had covid and survived. My brother was only 48 years old. He left behind 4 daughters and a grandson. We have seven children. Our children are fast approaching 50. Our youngest is in her 30's yet. The others are all in their 40's.

It Is So Important To Have Help For Trauma, Grief, And Loss
My career was spent working with program participants on trauma, grief, and loss. I thought all counselors/therapists were doing that. I believe that by the time someone gets into substance abuse or mental health programming, they have trauma, grief, and loss.

2022 Graduates — It Is That Time Of The Year. Top Story - June 2022.
I haven’t attended any graduations this year and I have been invited to several graduation parties. I attended one, I could not miss it! My oldest son’s youngest daughter graduated from high school and was just on the dean’s list at the college she will attend after graduation! Wow!

The Things I Can Tell You About My Dad And Bonus Dad
My mother and father were married in 1953. My mother grew up poor and her father-in-law promised her a wardrobe when they married. This is a young woman that was used to a pair of shoes once a year for school and by the time school was out it was no shoes for the summer. She was naive but hopeful.

"There weren't always dragons in the Valley." What did he say? Dragons? No way! "Well, just listen said hubby. It is a new sports team name. Guess why?" No clue I responded. "It is what is happening all around the country with changing sports teams' names so as not to upset the Indigenous people."

Native American Curriculum Training (NAC)
What did you learn in school, from the media, and your family about Native Americans? The people I have met that know most about Native Americans in my state have come from other countries. They know how many Native Americans are in Minnesota, and how many reservations and tribal communities there are here.

Exercise Or Not
Okay, so sitting probably doesn’t make you rot! I was told that once though. Sitting too much can make you rot. At least get up every half an hour. You spend too much time just sitting! So, I got up and went into the kitchen. I just came back with tru fru. Dark chocolate-covered frozen cherries.

The Hubby Is On The Roof Again
There were things I wanted to get done a few days ago! Instead, I found myself holding the ladder for my hubby. He was going on the roof to do a minor repair. In the last rainstorm, we lost a shingle, and he wants to add some tar to spots on the roof and firm up some other spots.
