Top Scoring Players on Fantasy Football (Week 12)
Week 12 was quite an appetizing week, especially for those of us in Fantasy Football who were making that playoff push. Week 12 is part of that final stretch in Fantasy Football, as the regular season in that field is down to the final two or three weeks in that field. It's usually by this point that the trade deadlines have passed, and teams have to pretty much hope that their rosters either continue to thrive, or come through and climb that ladder

All Aboard!!!
The Colorado Avalanche needed something to get the foul taste of that 8-2 loss out of our mouths. We also needed the perfect opponent to take said blowout defeat out on. With that, here are some words I never thought I'd say on Vocal: Thank God for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Simpsons Review: "Bart vs Thanksgiving". Top Story - November 2024.
Thanksgiving is upon us, and of course, that also means we receive some very good and memorable Turkey Day episodes of our favorite shows. There have been quite a few memorable Thanksgiving episodes over the decade; I still remember seeing one of Friends' Thanksgiving episodes that had the sextet playing football, while Joey and Chandler were fighting over a girl; that was a crazy one. Martin had quite a memorable Thanksgiving episode that featured the late, great John Witherspoon as one of Martin's relatives. There have been several different Thanksgiving episodes, but the best one had to be the first one from The Simpsons: "Bart vs Thanksgiving."

A Bad Night at the Office
Amalie Arena. A place that is near and dear to the hearts of Colorado Avalanche fans. In that very building, on Sunday night, June 26, 2022, the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup for the third time in franchise history. It was an amazing Final; defeating a Tampa Bay Lightning team who was looking to win their third straight Cup. This Avs fan always remembers that date very fondly, and treasures that arena as the place where it all happened.

Let's Get This Party Started! (Week 13)
Time sure flies faster than KaVontae Turpin did during that kickoff return. It seems like yesterday that I was drafting Fantasy Football teams and getting ready for the season. Now here it is, three months later, and we are down to the final six weeks of the season, the final one-third of the year that will determine who joins the playoff party, and who ends up with a good or decent draft pick. This is the fifth year of the format that sends seven playoff teams per conference (four division champions and three Wild Cards), totalling 14 playoff teams overall.

NFL Week 12 Recap: What Just Happened?!
Today's NFL recap is brought to you by the letters O, M, and G. So here it is, Week 12. The last week of the heart of the season. The last week before Thanksgiving. The last week before things get serious in the NFL. Yet so much wasn't serious about a number of games played during this week. Let's start with the craziest one: Cowboys @ Commanders.

The Wild, Wild NFC West
Once Week 12 is officially over, I'll start on the yearly tradition of composing week-by-week playoff scenarios and looks at the playoff picture up until the last week of the season. However, this is something that has to be talked about right now, and it's the NFC West this season. Holy Toledo! The NFC West is 2/3 through the season, and they're on an even keel. No byes remaining for any of the teams; they've all played 11 games in 12 weeks. As we football fans have seen, the NFC West has been quite cluttered this year, with both teams being up and down for most--if not all--of the season.

Top Scoring Players on Fantasy Football (Week 11)
Well, folkx, we are at that crucial period in the Fantasy Football season, and depending on the type of league you're in, you're down to either the final five weeks of the regular season, or the final four weeks. In a standard league, Week 11 begins the final five weeks of the regular season, though some leagues may only allow 14 regular season matchups and a three week playoffs that ends on Week 17. By this point, any and all trade deadlines have pretty much passed, so whatever team you have is yours in the long haul. If you have a pretty strong record by this point, the playoffs are in your future. If you're in the middle of the pack, hit the waiver wires. Anything worse, be prepared for that consolation tournament.

Goals, Goals, and More Goals
The Colorado Avalanche pulled out a narrow and late win in DC over the Washington Capitals, putting us two up on our current four-game road trip. Now, it's off to the Sunshine State for games against both teams, and first off, it's the Florida Panthers--the reigning, defending, undisputed Stanley Cup Champions. Now, it's no secret that I don't really think too much of the Panthers' Cup win. After all, they beat a Lightning team who we wrecked two years prior, they beat Boston because everyone does, they needed favorable calls to beat the Rangers, and they beat Edmonton--the ultimate "fool ya" team in the NHL. So yeah, the road wasn't as perilous, but that's irrelevant. The relevant thing is, they won it.

A Shocking Detour in the Women's U.S. Championship Tournament
Last Friday, the road to crowning WWE's first-ever Women's United States Championship kicked off with the first bout in a 12-woman tournament, with the first round consisting of Triple Threat Matches. In the first match, Bayley defeated Candice LeRae and B-Fab to advance to the Semifinals, and regarding this week's SmackDown, the second Quarterfinal match pitted Bianca Belair (one half of the Women's Tag Team Champions), Blair Davenport, and Chelsea Green. Blair hasn't held a title in WWE yet, but Chelsea has been one half of the tag champs before. As for Bianca, well, she's done it all in quite a short time, and she enters this tournament just three wins away from accomplishing yet another first.

Alexandar the Great
It was a Thursday night in Our Nation's Capital, and the Colorado Avalanche headed there after getting a big road win over the Flyers in Philadelphia. This was the second game of the road trip, and with this meeting, the season series was over already. The first meeting was at Ball Arena, and that was the game where the Avalanche's top players returned to the team for the first time, but even so, the Avalanche were not victorious in what was the last game of a four game homestand.

The Greats Make it Look Easy
For the Colorado Avalanche, the four-game homestand was done. We won three of the four games, and now, it's time to travel. After two days off, the Avs landed in Philadelphia to face off against the Flyers, with both teams entering the meeting with .500 records. For the Avs, this is our second game since a lot of our key players returned to action.
