"What a maroon" is more than likely not a racist statement
In the early LOONEY TUNES animated shorts, Bugs Bunny at times said of Elmer Fudd, the Tazmanian Devil, and others "What a maroon." He uttered this statement behind their backs, always looking into the camera as if letting the audience know he was mocking his fellow Toons. Most of those who enjoyed the antics of the Wascally Wabbit probably assumed this was a play on the word moron which is a way to infer someone is an idiot for lack of a better word.

Sewing by hand is a peaceful pastime
When I was a young girl in elementary school, my great-grandmother taught me how to thread a needle. I found it fascinating, although sometimes frustrating as I attempted to push that single thread through the eyehole. I have found over the decades that projects that require me to sew by hand have a therapeutic effect. The concentration and focus necessary to complete such tasks is a great way to slow down and pay attention.

Happy Harmonies "Bottles" episode is a true classic
Children growing up in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s probably never thought about the origin of the cartoons they enjoyed or how long they had been around. I caught an episode of TOM and JERRY recently on MeTV Saturday morning cartoons. One animated short that came on brought back fond memories for me, It was a Happy Harmony short titled BOTTLES and I was stunned to find out it was created in 1936. It's hard to believe that 2021 year marks 85 years of this classic short.
