Introducing "Cadence and Signal".
Hi Friends, I am so excited to finally share something new with you. After months of dreaming and planning, I am launching a music review newsletter called Cadence and Signal. This is a space for anyone who loves music, whether you spend hours digging through new releases or you simply want one thoughtful recommendation to brighten your week. The Vineyard and The Stage.. Top Story - September 2025.
Author’s Note. This piece is written in the tradition of C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters, where demonic voices reveal their strategies for deception, betrayal, and the twisting of faith. None of the characters here are real; they are allegorical, dramatized figures representing the temptations, compromises, and spiritual battles that often hide beneath the surface of public events. The goal is not to accuse actual people but to unveil the way appearances can be manipulated, how truth is muffled by spectacle, and how divine sovereignty continues to unravel the plots of darkness despite their seeming victories.

Are You A Catalyst?
How often does a person walk into a room, shift the atmosphere, and then find themselves walking away before the story is finished? To some, this looks like leaving things incomplete, not finishing what you started. But what if it is not about failure at all? What if it is about design? Some people are not meant to remain until the end. They are meant to start something, to awaken something, to be catalysts.

Do You Need a Literary Agent to Get Published?
At some point every writer faces the same question. Do I need a literary agent to get published? You may already have self published a book on Amazon Kindle. You may have written poetry, short stories, or essays. You may even have a novel or a non fiction manuscript sitting on your desk. But if you are serious about finding a traditional publisher you need to know how the process works and whether an agent is right for you.

Duress.
I had gone to bed. The lights were off, my tablet and phone charging on the nightstand, hair tucked under my bonnet. My midnight prayer had left me calm, the night folding around me like a familiar blanket. Outside, the city hummed softly, oblivious to the small apartment perched above the street.

Crowned In Flame.
It will not creep in silence, but erupt in a scream of flame a rupture like heaven torn by thunder, white-hot, merciless, godless. At the summit of love’s bloom, where my husband’s fingers lace through mine, where small voices call me “Mama” with the trust of unopened flowers, where words I’ve written ride the wind in a thousand tongues I am lifted in fire.

All Better Now.
Day One. Elara woke to sunlight spilling across the floor in stripes she did not remember seeing before. The air smelled faintly of antiseptic and rain. Her chest felt lighter than it had in months. She flexed her fingers, then her toes. She was awake. Finally.
