Introducing "Cadence and Signal".

A Music Newsletter For Everyone!

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 4 months ago 3 min read

Hi Friends,

I am so excited to finally share something new with you. After months of dreaming and planning, I am launching a music review newsletter called Cadence and Signal. This is a space for anyone who loves music, whether you spend hours digging through new releases or you simply want one thoughtful recommendation to brighten your week. It is also an opportunity for new artistes to share their material with a new community of music lovers.

Music has always had a way of meeting us right where we are. A single song can carry a memory, open a window of hope, or capture emotions that words alone cannot hold. That is what I want to celebrate through Cadence and Signal. Every Wednesday, I will send out a fresh review. Sometimes it will be of a brand new album, sometimes a single track, and sometimes an older piece that deserves another listen. My goal is not to overwhelm you with endless lists but to share honest and personal reflections on music that matters.

The name Cadence and Signal, carries a meaning that guides the whole project. Cadence speaks of rhythm, the flow of music, the natural rise and fall that makes a song memorable. Signal is about clarity. In a world where noise is everywhere, finding a clear voice and a trustworthy guide feels refreshing. Together, Cadence and Signal is about rhythm and clarity, heart and honesty. It is about tuning in to what is worth hearing.

Here is what you can expect. Every Wednesday a new review will land in your inbox. These reviews will be thoughtful, conversational, and hopefully a little inspiring. I want you to feel like you are sitting with a friend who cannot wait to share a record they just discovered. Some weeks I will highlight an exciting new release. Other weeks I might revisit an overlooked gem or a timeless classic. Along the way I will pay attention not only to the sound of the music but also to the stories it carries.

For readers who choose to support the newsletter as paid subscribers, there are two special perks. First, you will have access to a private community chat where we can talk about the music we love, share discoveries, and enjoy conversations beyond the reviews themselves. Second, there will be virtual hangouts where we gather together in real time to talk about new releases, swap recommendations, and celebrate music as a community. Think of it as a living room for music lovers that is open and welcoming.

But even if you only follow along on the free plan, I want you to feel welcome and valued. My hope is that every review, whether free or paid, will leave you curious to listen, inspired to think more deeply about the role music plays in your life, and maybe even surprised by a song you never expected to enjoy.

So why start this now? Because music is one of the few things that can cut through the static of everyday life. When the world feels overwhelming, a song can bring clarity. When the day feels heavy, music can provide lightness. I want Cadence and Signal to be a place where that magic is noticed, celebrated, and shared.

Thank you for coming along on this journey. If you subscribe, you will start receiving reviews every Wednesday. I would love for you to join me in listening closely, celebrating boldly, and keeping our ears open to the music that truly matters.

With love
Cathy.

PS.

If you know of any artistes who have material they would like to promote feel free to send this this post and the "Cadence And Signal" Link. The more we are, the merrier 😄

I am either dreaming or in another reality. This is what you had cooking up behind closed doors. Oh I am so proud of you, Cathy. This is HUGE. Very thoughtful. I can see a lot of value here. Love the bold writing, Cadence and Signal. The repeat. Now I will not forget the name. Love that you included that you will be sending reviews and when. Loving how you broke down the meaning behind why you chose those words. Oooo sitting with a friend. That's a sweet and effective selling point. I know the private community chat would be exciting for those who will support. Awe love how you didn't leave out the ones who will be on the free plan. I don't listen to music as much. But I love what you've got going on here. Keep reaching for the stars. 🤗❤️
