Mother Dragon
Mother Dragon raised me as her own. I was only a young tot when she found me that day. It was a misty morning in the forest, and it rolled in quietly as I was sitting in the leaves. She took me under her wing because she saw water in me. I had some scales on my arms, silver and grey. One or two would slide off from time to time.

Chapter 1
She had another dream of the woman with the red hair... She sang her a song, and it sounded like a siren’s call. All Aven knew was her tedious life of meeting the scheduled times, or else she would suffer the consequences of Demerits and potential S.P.—the looming threat of learned pain. Learned pain was implanted experience of memories from other (most likely deceased) citizens from generations past. They served as reminders of what actions caused, teaching them what not to do. Their memories were cautionary tales, and they felt just as they were called—filled with pain and sometimes even torture. Time was variable and hard to discern. Sometimes it felt like days, and sometimes it felt like minutes or seconds.

She-Wolf
Everyone went blind, except me. The government took us kids and made us all experiments. Something about studying the way we interacted with social media visually…the plan was to adjust our sight to offset other factors, long-term and detrimental psychological effects that had been proven with research.

Remembrance
I was always trying to get back to her. I dreamed of the ocean again, the cool salt breeze whipping at my face. I stood knee-deep in the ice-cold water as it rushed past me in moderate waves. She stood next to me, her hand in mine. The grip loosened, then dissolved, and I looked next to me and she was gone.
