Ocean Gaze

And Palo Santo Fire

It smelled like water and thunder

Palo Santo fire

Tongue searing your mouth

I am moth and you are flame

Shaking in heat

Quivering breath

You’re good at sex

I said

Coy smile and shy gaze

Why does it feel like kissing in the rain

Our laughter

Bells at a church

In the downtown

I laid you on my altar

For love is the highest worship

I am moth and you are flame

And every time I hear that song I weep

Because the first time,

I knew it was for me.

And now I’m melting like rhinestones,

Melting like rhinestones unto the ocean at sunset

love poems
