The perfect covid couple
I should admit from the start mine and my fiancé's situation is a bit different to some. I am a key worker so little has changed for me in terms of going to work, little has changed for her as she lost her job a few weeks before lockdown and was stuck home anyway.

Time to believe the liars
We live in strange times for many reasons, not least because the people we like to hate and ignore are trying to keep us alive. Its a bit of the cry wolf situation, they might have lied and twisted the truth before but this is all for real. This virus will kill many people unless they obey what each individual country instructs us to do. In America maybe don't listen to the president, maybe stick with the advisors he likes to ignore.

The split personality of a key worker
I have written a few things around this subject as its what's on every bodies mind at present. Also though I am a key worker, promoted from low paid nobody to apprentice superhero in recent weeks. I am still low paid though I hope a positive to come from all this is how important some groups can be. I am reasonably well qualified with in the care sector but at present I am barely above minimum wage. The care industry as a whole is notoriously badly paid. I have said many times its a vocation and not a regular job, you need to want to do it as you wont get rich.

Eating during corona virus on a budget
One of the problems many will face over coming weeks and months is feeding and eating on a reduced budget and with reduced supplies. For example feeding kids that would normally eat at school. I will try and share some things I have done when money has been tight and mix it with good ideas I have seen shared on line.

being a key worker
There has been a list given of people known as key workers during the corona virus. Some have complained its too long, I think it just shows how many people are key to keep the country going. I am a carer at a care community for adults with additional needs and learning delays. I will be working until either this ends or I get ill from it. I am not the only one by a very long way .

think of others too
I am writing this from a number of standpoints, not only as a designated key worker. In my job I care for a number of vulnerable adults who are now in lock down in their private community. Luckily they have enclosed gardens and space to move around. If one of them gets ill within one of the households they will all need to stay indoors together. That means people with severe learning delay and autism among other things will be kept together.

teach your kids without them noticing
This is subtitled indoor version because when I started thinking about this everyone could still go outside. Now we are more restricted I have made this the version for indoors and will do an outside version when we can roam freely again.

make choices
At the moment with my mental health so bad this worldwide lockdown and virus hasn't really registered to highly with me. its more something to add to the growing list of crap going on around me. Also as a support worker for disabled adults I cant really lock down anyway unless I get ill. I have to make choices on how to keep going for the people that need me in more or less one piece.

don't be afraid to be you
Maybe the world lock down can have its positive as well, maybe the all new you can start now. You have promised yourself to become a new and improved version, why not now. Learn new things, listen to new things and watch new things. Find out your hidden talents while you have the time. Don't like someone or something because everyone else seems too, find out yourself.
