Barcelona celebrating a goal against Valencia

Last years La Liga runner up FC Barcelona are looking to claim the ultimate Spanish trophy after losing out to rivals Real Madrid C.F. During the 2023/24 season FC Barcelona had failed to protect their title as they had lost by a large 10 point difference. The introduction of Xavi as their new manager had fans optimistic of winning the treble but the Xavi lead side failed to live up to their expectations and went trophy less. Although the 23/24 season was not the best for Barcelona we saw the birth of a Spanish football prodigy Lamine Yamal (The next Messi). The 24/25 season will be a season to remember for all football fans as German Manager Hansi Flick has taken over FC Barcelona and will be looking to grab his first La Liga title with Barcelona. For that to happen he had to start of strong and he had to do it against a tough side in Valencia.

From the onset of the match Barcelona where the favourites to win and everyone expected them to do so easily. The game kicked off and there was bearly any action in the first 43 minutes of the game, the game was looking dull. Then Diego Lopéz crosses the ball past German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stergen for Hugo Duro to tap it in. It looked as if Valencia was going to win and Barcelona was going to lose. Euro had scored moments before half time on the 44' minute, devastation for Barca fans. After conceding moments before halftime Barcelona had to respond, and respond they did. Lamine Yamal, 17 year old Spanish talent supplied Lewandoski with the equaliser of the game 6 minutes after Duro's goal.

Barcelona proceeded to show their dominance in the second half of the game. During the start of the second half Barcelona won a penalty after Raphinha had been fouled. Cool, calm and collected veteran striker Lewandoski slotted his second goal of the match to get a brace on the 49' minute. Barcelona went from being a goal behind to now leading the game by a goal in the space of 10 minutes. Barcelona had now began dictating the tempo of the game. Despite Yamal not being at his best the Valencia defenders where having a hard time trying to stop him. Barcelona had their own flaws as the midfield was in shambles, Valencia tried to infiltrate using counter attacks but Hansi Flick's Barcelona was able to contain them. The match ended with Robert Lewandoski going off with a brace to his name and Bard adding 3 points to their campaign for Spanish Supremacy.
