The Secret To My Inspiration
What I Need To Write

Introduction
This week I have not found it easy to write and I was wondering why that was. I was even thinking that I might have to just give up writing. If I did, I am not sure what I would do, but on the train home today I was feeling quite despondent about it. I have just come back from a wonderful holiday so I should be full of ideas, shouldn't I?
So What Do I Need To Write?
I don't know if it was where I was staying, or the weather, or the fact I was writing on a laptop, or just not speaking to many Vocal friends.
Today I had a couple of long chats with my Muse, which has resulted in a poem to be written. and of course, every time we speak, my creative floodgates open.
Added to that I went out for a walk and ideas started to to come, as they usually do, and the fact that I am in my writing room means that I feel that I can write.
Here I can listen to music when I write and a copy of "The King Of Elfland's Daughter" had dropped through my letter box and it is a wonderful listen, especially the two Mary Hopkin songs including the album's closer "Beyond the Fields We Know"
I followed this with the album "Who I Am" by Beverley Knight and that helped me start writing this.
Conclusion
It seems that to write, the most important thing I need is inspiration from my Muse and that is like an unseen current that flows from her to me. Then I need to walk to let my mind wander. Next comes music, and that can be anything, but all these things come together allowing me to create my Vocal stories in my writing den.
Thank you for reading and I hope this has given you som Ideas.

For me, travel is one of those things that guarantee I won't be able to write for a while. I find uneventful, dull life most conducive to writing. It's like I'm either experiencing reality or having new ideas to be written down, never both at the same time, lol
That happens to me all the time, even with painting. I too have a writing Art room, I need to be there to let it happen. Happy you got your inspiration back!
So happy that your inspiration came flooding! So grateful for your muse!
You are not alone Mike. I have had a similar week, plenty of ideas but I have struggled to actually sit down and do something constructive. Those pieces I have produced have been waiting in the wings for a couple of weeks. I had to have a good talk to myself and tell me to get off my ar**** next week. Today you can watch the cricket, tomorrow you get going. Glad I am not the only one. :)
We all need to be re-inspired every so often!
