Introductution
I now seldom get a Top Story a month, and it has been over a month since my last one. These are the effects of this on my writing.
The Lack Of A Vocal Top Story Effect
Top Stories and Challenge wins and placements give you visibility on the Vocak platform, but without them, to many creators, you do not exist. Many who used to comment no longer comment on my work. There may be other reasons, but if someone drops in once a week, then they are unlikely to see my work, and without a Top Story, then they are even less likely to read and comment.
I love to get comments, but they seem to be dropping off.
My reads, however, are consistently high, although I cannot tell how many reads a lot of individual stories have had thanks to the flaws in stats reporting. My overall reads are still consistently high, and I do get comments when I post in the non-Facebook groups, which is nice.

Four Years On Vocal
Introduction I started on Vocal over four years ago with this piece, although it seemed to me the focus was on fiction and poetry, two things I had not really touched since school, although there were other "communities" which I did not explore for a while (I have now posted in every community).

'20/20'
"Do It Again" the track that would ultimately open the Beach Boys final album on Capitol Records which was released on February 10th 1969 had originally been released as a single in August of 1968. The track was the first of many post-Pet Sounds era throwbacks to the early Beach Boys sound which would become continually more cliched and eventually lead the Beach Boys to the level of self-parody they would eventually succumb to in the 1980s while their closest contemporaries The Beatles nearing the end of their run in 1969 would go on to be viewed as the most influential band of all time. However, the song itself is not bad on its surface, and it opens with a futuristic sounding (for 1969) drumbeat captured by then-Beach Boys engineer Stephen Desper using tape delays on the drums performed by Dennis Wilson and John Guerin. The song has been re-recorded numerous times over the years on various Beach Boys-related projects most notably the 2011 re-recording at Capitol studios featuring the five surviving Beach Boys at the time backed instrumentally by various members of both the Brian Wilson Band and Mike Loves touring "Beach Boys" to promote the then upcoming Beach Boys 50th Anniversary reunion tour in 2012. The hammering and power drill sound at the end of the song was an excerpt from a track called "Workshop" that was to be a part of the uncompleted "SMiLE" album.

I get it, though I have no room to talk. 2025 has been a busy year and I haven't been able to comment and write like I used to. Your story, though, has motivated me to at least be better about commenting and reading, even if I can't write at the time.
You always find something to write about. That's Top Story in itself! I know that if you write on a category that often dont get stories usually get Top stories. If you write about ozzy, albums and why people feel he is a legend. I have a lot of friends who were deeply affected by his recent death at 76, after giving an emotional concert.

I think that they are all on a summer break. It's been really quiet, but readers know your voice and will come back to you to hear it. Don't worry.
Good work. I haven't had a TS in many months, and I do have a few loyal commenters for my work. I will keep trying and writing.
I also have noticed a drop off in comments. Reads are more or less the same but comments seem to be down. Wonder if it’s the summertime effect too. I know my reading backlog is growing larger and larger daily
