Once upon a time in a quaint suburban neighborhood, nestled on the outskirts of a bustling city, there lived a young girl named Amanda. From the moment I could hold a pencil, I had a deep-seated passion for writing. It wasn't just a hobby for me; it was my heart's desire, my soul's purpose. My dream was simple but profound: I wanted to have my own book published. This wasn't a fleeting childhood fancy but a burning ambition that fueled my every waking moment.

How to successfully market Children's Books
The basic concept behind book marketing is simple: figure out who is showing interest in you, find out where they "live," and then sell your book to them. Having said that, the intended audience for children's books is actually not children, but instead the people who buy the books for them. Parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, teachers, or anybody else. You'll quickly find that you couldn't ask for a better target consumer after you figure out what these adults want in their children's book:

My Vocal Awards Submissions
I finally caved and entered the Vocal Awards. (pause for applause) thank you, thank you. Initially, I had not planned on entering them. For whatever reason, my muses weren’t channeling into the rabbit holes in ways I felt like pursuing, so I kept my head down and focused on my other current WIPs.

The old man and me
I was 23 years old, I had just graduated from university. I was looking for a suitable job. It was a hot summer day. It was around 10 o'clock in the morning, I left the house, bought a newspaper and went to sit in the square near the house to read the advertisement page. I checked all the seats, they were either occupied or right in the way of the burning sun. There were no trees above the benches to provide shade. I had to sit on a bench in the sun. A tall handsome old man was sitting on the bench next to me, which was completely in the shade, and he was reading a book.

Releasing the Secret Enthusiasm: Investigating the Erotic Side of Composing . Content Warning.
Presentation Composing is many times seen as a consistent and organized pursuit, however underneath the surface lies a rich and sexy world ready to be investigated. Figuring out the exotic part of reviewing opens new roads for imagination and articulation. Embracing enthusiasm recorded as a hard copy delivers crude feelings and makes a more profound association between the essayist and the peruser.

Then and Now
The first ever piece that I published here on Vocal is “What a Glass of Merlot Can Hold: Seeing Past the Now.” As I am writing this, I see the irony in that subtitle; perhaps deep down I knew I would be referencing it someday in the future. Reading that piece two years after writing it, I still think it’s a solid short story. However, I also noticed quite a few things I would like to edit and improve upon. I didn’t remember every detail that I chose to include so, in a way, it was like reading something new to me, yet so familiar.
