A Rick Henry Christopher Peace on Earth Challenge
Recently I read a poem called Peace Please by Vicki Lawana Trusselli and I was so inspired by what she wrote that I thought I should write a poem on peace myself. Then I realized this would be a great challenge.
Let's put the pencil to the paper and write a freeform poem on Peace.
The poem should be 60 to 200 words and should be about what peace means to you or a call for peace.

“No One Wants To Say I'm Sorry”
What would this world be like if there were no wars?
What would it be like if it was devoid of grief?
Imagine opening all the doors,
To let love in, so we can live in peace.

Remember when John Lennon sang, "Imagine all the people living life in peace."
Is it reality or just a dream?
I don't know; perhaps it's just a dream.
☮️
Change won't come through governmental mechanisms,
It's the people, those who run the government, and private citizens that will make the change.
☮️
But, we don't want to get along,
We prefer to call each other names.
None of us want to look in that mirror - NONE OF US!
No one wants to say I'm sorry.

We'd rather lie than face the truth,
That most of us are good people.
We'd rather tear each other down,
Yet most of us are not that evil.
☮️
Where does it start?
We must do our part,
It starts one person at a time,
Looking into our hearts to find the peace within.
☮️
Live with peace within yourself,
And maybe, someday, others will follow.

A Note from Rick: I am guilty of not wanting to look in that mirror. There are things for which I do not want to apologize. Sometimes I'd rather be selfish and make it all about "ME." I'd rather think ill of those that have hurt me instead of forgiving them.
So, maybe my first step is not to look for forgiveness, but to forgive and to, in my own mind, think one good thought a day about the ones that have hurt me. Maybe, just maybe, if I do this, a small portion of the cosmos of this universe might begin to change.
Let's each do our little part to change the cosmos of this world. Let's make this a domino effect and let those tiles fall toward the order of world peace and unconditional love!

BEAUTIFUL. WOW. THANK YOU. INSPIRATION OF PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING. GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. WHEN JOHN LENNONS STATUE WAS IN DOWNTOWN LA I WOULD WALK EVERYDAY ON MY LUNCH HOUR TO PLACE A ROSE AT THE FOOT OF THE STATUE. I WORKED AT THE LA TIMES BACK THEN. WE ARE STILL FIGHTING OR NOT FIGHTING BUTWORKING FOR PEACE.

Very lovely and honest piece, Rick. I hope we're up to the challenge -- the writing one, sure, but moreover living it.

I look in the mirror plenty, but I can't say forgiveness always comes easy, of my self or others. But it comes often, so there's scope to work on the tougher ones.
As a pathological people pleaser, I tend to overapologise 😅 But forgiveness does not come easily from me and I need to work on that. This is a fantastic challenge and I loved your poem!

Love the intent behind this. I lost my peace on Feb.24, 2022. I don’t think I will be ever able to forgive Putin for what he is doing to Ukraine.

Rick, I love the sentiment behind this. I'm in. And we're all selfish. It's how far you take it that's the difference and whether you're like it all of the time. I don't think you are. My impression of you from Vocal is of a very caring individual.
