My Significant Vocal Stories
Some Recent Stories Where The Vocal Story Number Coincided With A Significant Date Or Number

Introduction
When my number of Vocal stories was approaching one thousand nine hundred I realised that the number of the Vocal Story would correspond with significant dates or events. There were conjunctions that I missed or ignored but recently I posted story number 2,112 which was also the title of an album by Rush, so I decided to mark that with another story.
I am sure there will be a few musical pieces that may be used in stories such as "2525" by Zager and Evans, but nothing else comes to mind.
I started going my through my stories adn thought I had already done this, but I hadn't, this was story 2025 and a list of what I consider to be achievements on Vocal, so I will start this list by sharing another list:
if you want to know what I consider my milestones then check this out, but now on to the Stories and their numbers.
For the War ones I made use of the Pantoum poetry format for the first time.
When I hit 1900 I used it as a title for a piece for a Vocal Challenge. While it didn't relate to that new century it took elements of certain explorations around that time.
This one was inspired by a significant date, the start of the First World War, and was the first time that I tried the Pantoum format, which I would use for all my War based poems in this sequence which do make up the bulk of my Significant Vocal Number pieces.
The second of my War Pantoums to mark the end of the First World War.
1935's significance for me was the birth of my dad and the king of rocka and roll Elvis Presley. The piece notes other significant events around the time including Jesse Owen's 1936 Olympic Triumph, though I noted that that was one that I would miss.
In 1939 World War Two broke out so tha resulted in another pro-peace war pantoum.
The Second World War concluded in 1945 after so much destruction and klling. Post 1945 was another pro-peace Pantoum.
It seems the permanent state of the world is conflict. Today the first two that come to mind are Ukraine and Gaza, but there are ones in Africa as well. Why can't we build rather than destroy?
In 1950 the USA entered the Korean war in eanest so My Vocal Story 1950 was another pro-peace pantoum. The war was well domunted in the fictional series M*A*S*H.
The Korean War was considered finished in 1953 and this was my final pro-peace War Pantoum for the fifties. We can always find money for war though.
Something happened in 1957 which if it hadn't happened, you wouldn't be reading this now. I was born in Mount Street Hospital on the first of October, and a few other significant events happened, which you can read about in the story.
In 1965 the USA moved into Vietnam and this was the inspiration for my seventh pro-peace Pantoum. It makes me sad that War seesm to be the main preoccupation of the human race. Tony Benn nailed it.

Ten years and Ten stories on the Vietnam War saw the USA pull out and I wrote a Pantoum to mark it.
1977 was the year punk hit so I marked this with a punk playlist for your enjoyment.
1985 was not particularly significant, but it was the first one written on my new computer, and my Vocal Story 1985 documents that.
The year before our second millenium gave me an excuse to celebrate post 1999 with music from Prince Rogers Nelson.
And this was my two thousandth Vocal story, something I certainly never expected to happen.
I thought that I had finished with these significant stories but the 2112 came along that cried out for a Rush playlist.
I think this will be the last one that fits the requirement.
Thank you for reading, I hope that you have enjoyed this.

Just amazing, It is interesting that we were born the same year. I have always thought that my birth might have inspired some of the best rock and roll songs of that time. Also interesting is that your birthday on the first of October starts the month as does my birthday on the first of March starts off that month.
Ooh, I volunteer "25 or 6 to 4" (2564) as tribute!
Wow, I really enjoyed all of these put together and the background behind them. It was like visiting a time capsule or something. Wonderful idea, Mike, for the individual pieces and for this compilation :)
