Moldavite: A Journey from Stars to Earth
Moldavite is a unique gemstone that originates from a significant event in Earth's history, about 15 million years ago. A meteorite struck the Earth near what is now the Ries Crater in Bavaria, Germany. This impact caused an explosion that melted the surrounding soil, creating glass droplets. These droplets solidified into Moldavite and scattered across the region, especially along the Vltava River in the Czech Republic.
Moldavite is not only beautiful but also has a rich history. The first known uses of the stone date back around 30,000 years. Ancient people carved Moldavite into tools and jewelry, recognizing its rarity and attractiveness.
Around 5,000 years ago, the Celts began to value Moldavite. They believed it held magical properties and used it in rituals. The Celts considered Moldavite a protective amulet and a tool for spiritual connection. They saw its extraterrestrial origins as a sign of divine power.
One fascinating story linked to Moldavite is its connection to the Holy Grail. Some legends suggest that this sacred cup, believed to have been used by Jesus at the Last Supper, was set with Moldavite stones. This association raised Moldavite's status and connected it to spiritual searching and enlightenment.
Interest in Moldavite surged again in the late 20th century, with the rise of the New Age movement. People began exploring its metaphysical properties and discovered that it could help with personal transformation. Many believe Moldavite enhances meditation, amplifies intentions, and fosters meaningful growth. It is thought to open the heart chakra, allowing love and kindness to flow freely.
Those who work with Moldavite report significant experiences. It is seen as a catalyst for change that encourages individuals to face their fears and embrace new opportunities. The stone comes in various shades of green, with each piece having its unique texture and inclusions.
Today, Moldavite is celebrated for both its beauty and its transformative qualities. Whether worn as jewelry or kept in a special place, it serves as a reminder of its ancient origins and the energy it carries. Moldavite invites individuals to open their hearts, embrace change, and embark on their own unique journeys. It stands as a symbol of connection between the Earth and the cosmos, inspiring all who encounter it.
This information in this writing has been put together by me after reading up on the internet and from my own usage of this remarkable stone. I have never in my life worked with a stone that could match this one. It’s very expensive, but amazing.

I looked up the stone after reading your article and the prices range from $20- thousands! It's hard to know who is selling fakes, low quality and who is overcharging just to rip buyers off. Now I really want something with moldavite but I'll need to find a reputable place that sells the real thing.
