Top Story - November 2025

The challenge ended and I am sending the tips out to the stories I liked, which is every one of them. I was completely blown away by this collective creativity and the different takes the authors provided on the prompt.

A small tip is finding its way to all the stories submitted. Please let me know if you haven't received one, I feel like a couple of payments could have fallen through the cracks. I wish Vocal had an "Activity" button where you could see recent actions on Vocal, including tips.

Here are all the challenge stories, in the order they were submitted, from first to last:

1. "Elon's Space Force" by Stephanie Hoogstad (Stephanie has taken this to the next level and published a series of wonderful Drabbles that might make a great novella or even a novel if she continues with them)

2. "Home" by Mike Singleton 💜 Mikeydred

3. "Blueprints to Solitude" by Paul Stewart, with an original illustration

4. "Exile from Teslaris" by Pamela Williams

5. "We Don't Want Him!" by Sam Spinelli

6. "Lost on Mars" by Archibald Thorne in the form of a poem

7. "Grounded" by Cristal S.

8. "Blue Eggs and Wormholes" by Diane Foster

9. "Rats and Elon's Magic Hat" by Novel Allen

10. "The Canada Debacle" by Antoni De'Leon

11. "Construction Drabble" by Cindy Calder

12. "Oh.. er.. my name's Elon" by Raymond G. Taylor

13. "Lone Skum" by A. J. Schoenfeld

14. "Alien Odyssey" by Michelle Liew Tsui-Lin

15. "Katie Can't Cut It" by Andrea Corwin (late entry but I encouraged her to submit as she missed the deadline, being on Vocal irregularly lately for health reasons; please give her some love and reads).

16. "Phone Home" by L.C. Schäfer. She forgot to link her story to my challenge but it was written before the deadline, so I'm including it here.

Please read these great entries, I promise you a lot of fun.

I enjoyed this challenge a lot and am thinking about putting something like this out again when Elon does something alien-like, which is basically every day of the week.

And I am including my own Drabble that started this challenge. Should I send a tip to myself?

Thanks, everyone, for playing along and reading!

  • Back to say congratulations on your Top Story! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊

  • That’s a lot of tips to send out, Lana. That is very nice of you. Some of these stories I did see the titles here and there but I don’t think I’ve read any of them. This last week has been very tough on me. But there’s a few that I definitely want to read and will be reading in the next day or two as I am back on track with vocal.

So many drabbles to catch up on! Thank you for hosting this challenge; I’ve had a lot of fun with the drabble series that I’ve spawned from it, and it couldn’t have happened without your inspiration. And, of course, the tip is much appreciated!

Thank you Lana. This was absolutely hilarious fun to take part in and I've loved the entries I've read especially Stephanie's mini saga. Will do my best to read the rest too. Well done all and you too, my friend.

  • Thanks so much, Lana, I enjoyed this challenge. I now can't imagine Elon in any other form.
