The Ness Islands
A Lovely Walk In Inverness

Introduction
We just had a weekend in Inverness, a five-hour train journey to the furthest point North I have ever been with a visit to Loch Ness, but that is another Vocal story
This is about my walk to the Ness Islands with a few pictures that I took.
This is the official website:
The Ness Islands
The River Ness is only six miles long.
Inverness takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Nis, meaning "Mouth of the River Ness". It is the northernmost city in the United Kingdom and lies within the Great Glen (Gleann Mòr).
The Ness islands are a collection of natural islands that sit in the middle of the River Ness, connected from the river banks and throughout by beautiful Victorian footbridges
I took a short walk along the river and was very impressed by the houses there, although if the river rose maybe a fathom, they would be flooded.
The water in the river is very clear and there is lots of birdlife on the river.

This was one of the Victorian bridges that lead onto the islands and link them as well to allow people to walk the paths on them.

I will leave you with a few more pictures that I took on my walk before returning to Inverness. There is a bus service, but it does not run on Sunday.

Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my pictures.
The music is "The Island" by Skipinnish.
