POLAND
This past week, I had the opportunity to travel to Poland for work. As a result, my opportunity to see the sights was limited to the evenings. However, I was impressed by what I saw and what I ate while there. My job had me travel to three different locations: Warsaw, Poznan, and Szczecin. Below, I will briefly describe each area and what some of the key landmarks were. First, let me provide a quick historical overview of the significance of Poland today.

THE BALTIC SEA REGION
In August, I took the opportunity to drive up to the Baltic Sea region and cross the Danish Straits, one of the world's strategic maritime chokepoints. Despite being in Germany from 2004 to 2007 and recently since 2022, this trip was my first time heading north toward Denmark. As a fan of the historical dramas Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla, I looked forward to the area that inspired those shows. On a long weekend, I plotted my trip north that would include Hamburg, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Malmö, Sweden.

Open Sesame - Fannies Emporium - A Morpeth Treasure Trove
Introduction The last time I was in Morpeth I walked past an antiques place in an imposingly impressive building and liked the sign that said "Dogs are Welcome, and humans if they are well behaved" or something akin to that.

The Lessons That I Derived from My Recent Wanderlust
The darkness that surrounds the storm is often the most turbulent period of hardships that embellish us into the trance of not knowing what to do. I learnt the lessons of patience, virtue and gratitude from the darkest periods of my life. Life has its ways of embracing us in its wisdom, staggering us into the whirlwinds of challenges and adversities, only to gift us with peonies of hope. Hope can metamorphose mountains of hatred into the galloping beauty of existence that showers us with the narrative of self-belief and confidence. It is often in a wanderlust away from our daily surroundings that we realize the wonder that the world we live in has to offer. Forgiveness after a storm is like accepting the catastrophe without denying the damage it has done. It is painful but necessary to survive, to thrive in our lives.

My Accommodation In Prague
This place is ran by women for women. So it startled me when I heard male voices, but it turned out to be engineers doing some work. They're a really friendly bunch that run the hostel and they do put a lot of effort into the place. Like a little garden area, which wasn't really being used cause it's cold outside. I like the little art room they have in campus one. Also nice they let you have free cereal and pancakes. Someone comes in to make them from scratch. I think it's one of the most fanciest hostels I have ever stayed in.

THE ABANDONED VILLAGES OF SPAIN
The first time I ever saw an abandoned village was in Spain and I was gob smacked. I was struck by its eerie beauty, its aura of secrets. My partner had taken me to see La Revilla, one of the abandoned villages near his childhood home in the province of Soria and my first impression was the stunning colours.

Marvelous Malmo
Malmo is not one of the typical tourist cities on most lists to visit. However, it certainly is worth a visit and tourists come from all over the world to see the capital of the Swedish southernmost province Skane. One of the things that makes Malmo unique is that it is so close to Copenhagen, Denmark connected by the Oresund Bridge, the motorway, and link by railway. Taking a train from the center of Malmo in 35 minutes you’ll be in Copenhagen and it’s just 22 minutes to the Copenhagen Airport. So you can choose to visit two cities in two different countries at one time if you like. In the meantime, you can take a look at all of the great attractions that Malmo has to offer.
