Roads
Impressions Of Roads I Have Walked And Seen

Introduction
Every picture here is from walks I have made and roads that I have seen. Often they are the only sign of human habitation, and I wonder why they were built, obviously to connect two places, but when you are on these roads, or when I am, lots of stories come to mind taking me into some magical mythical worlds although the reality may be a lot more mundane.
The main image is the entrance to Hulne Park in Alnwick, which I have documented before.
The Roads I Saw

This one was taken from the top of Castlebergh Crah in Settle and I don't know where it goes though can guess where it starts, and it looks very steep. There seems to be a guy on the first turn and that makes me wonder what he is doing there. Maybe next time I might attempt to see where it goes.

On the Ingleton Waterfall Walk when you hit the top of the hills and are coming down you see this sight. I am not sure what they are quarrying, and you can see a bit of the road that is an option to get back to where I catch the bus.
There is a little more about that walk here:

I love the pure emptiness of the road coming back from Scaleber Fosse to Settle. It is the road to Malham and the first part of it requires a one in five climb.

As you get closer to Settle you hit the steepest part of the road, which is almost worse walking down than walking up. I once met two old guys, even older than me, actually riding up this and having a conversation. Some people keep themselves very fit.

This is a bit walking up the steep bit of the road, with a few sheep in the field and the fog coming down.

This is a path in Thirsk and I think these trees could be Ents.
Conclusion
The music is the beautiful "Road" by Nick Drake from "Pink Moon".
I hope you have enjoyed these pictures I have shared with you, and who knows they may inspire you too.
