Natures Symphony: The Harmonious Beauty of Bangkong Kahoy Valley Near Mount Banahaw Dolores Quezon Province
Eco-Tourism Paradise: The Sustainable Ecosystem of Bangkong Kahoy Valley Near Mount Banahaw Dolores Quezon Province

On November 30, 2024, our adventure began as we set out for Peaceful Forest Haven, a serene retreat nestled in the picturesque Bangkong Kahoy Valley (BK) in Dolores, Quezon Province. Our group comprised five enthusiastic friends eager to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. To enhance our journey, we made stops along the way to pick up colleagues from Eastwood, Pasig, and Muntinlupa City, adding to the camaraderie of our outing.
We officially kicked off our trip at 8:40 AM, leaving Eastwood with spirits high and excitement in the air. As we navigated the route toward Quezon Province via SLEX (South Luzon Expressway), we enjoyed the scenic views along the highway, marking the transition from urban landscapes to lush greenery. The journey was memorable, although it took longer than expected due to the heavy holiday traffic that tends to build up at this time of year.
Throughout the drive, we shared stories, laughter, and music, making the time we spent on the road feel worthwhile. Despite the delays, anticipation grew as we approached our destination, where we knew the beauty and tranquility of Peaceful Forest Haven awaited us. This trip promised not only a chance to relax but also a time to connect with nature and each other in a beautiful setting.
During our journey, we made a delightful stop in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, where we decided to enjoy lunch at the famous Jollibee. We indulged in their classic chicken joy and spaghetti, which filled our bellies and prepared us for the next leg of our trip. After lunch, we also took the opportunity to pick up some essentials, including snacks, drinks, and other items to ensure we were well-equipped for our stay.

With our quick break behind us, we resumed our adventure and were fortunate to arrive at our destination in the late afternoon, just as the sun began to lower in the sky. Finding Peaceful Forest Haven was a breeze, thanks to the reliable guidance from Waze and Google Maps, which led us through a picturesque route.
The road that led us to our accommodation was somewhat narrow and included a few unpaved stretches, but the journey was worth it. As we traveled, we were treated to stunning landscapes filled with lush greenery, towering trees, and scenic views. One highlight was a charming small bridge we crossed, which added to the beauty of the surroundings, alongside an unobstructed view of the majestic Mount Banahaw looming in the background.
Upon our arrival, we encountered less-than-ideal weather, with a few drizzles casting a slight shadow over our initial excitement. However, this didn't deter us from fully embracing the tranquility and natural beauty of the area surrounding Bangkong Kahoy Valley (BK). The fresh air, the sound of rustling leaves, and the distant calls of nature created an inviting atmosphere that beckoned us to explore.
Once we settled in, we took our time unpacking and relaxing in the cozy accommodations. We enjoyed a variety of small snacks while sipping hot coffee, which enhanced the comfort of our surroundings. The light-hearted mood continued as we played tennis inside, laughed over our favorite shows on television, and engaged in lively conversations that deepened our connections. It was the perfect way to unwind and fully immerse ourselves in the peaceful ambiance of the place.

**Day 1:**
The day began with gloomy skies and persistent rain, prompting us to seek refuge indoors. Despite the cold temperatures outside, we found warmth in each other’s company, filling the hours with meaningful and engaging conversations. We hopped from topic to topic, sharing our thoughts and experiences, while occasionally catching up on the latest news and enjoying a selection of movies that helped lighten the mood.
As evening descended, we decided to prepare a delightful dinner together. The culinary highlight of the evening was a rich and comforting native chicken soup. We were especially grateful to a generous neighbor who lived nearby, as they had given us a fresh chicken earlier that day. The process of cooking was filled with laughter and teamwork, as we chopped vegetables and stirred the simmering pot, bringing the kitchen to life with aromatic scents.
Gathered around the table, we savored the meal, knowing that it was not just the soup that nourished us but also the heartfelt stories we shared while eating. With each spoonful, we exchanged personal anecdotes and humorous tales, which strengthened our bond and created lasting memories.
To add a festive touch to our evening, we poured ourselves small glasses of Emperador Brandy and opened a few bottles of flavored beer. The drinks were more than just beverages; they symbolized a celebration of friendship and the joy of being together. Our conversations flowed freely, covering everything from personal stories to work experiences and future dreams.
As the night wore on and laughter filled the air, we ended our gathering with smiles and a deep sense of gratitude for the connections we had forged. The atmosphere was cozy and peaceful, making it easy to relax. We eventually settled in for the night, letting the comforting ambiance of the house lull us into a restful sleep, recharging us for all that the next day would bring.
**Day 2:**
On the second day of our stay at Bangkong Kahoy Valley (BK), located in the picturesque town of Dolores in Quezon Province, the rain persisted, creating a refreshing atmosphere. Undeterred by the weather, our group, which included two knowledgeable project managers, eagerly set out to explore the rich offerings of this beautiful valley.

**Breakfast at Rosalia’s Restaurant**
After a fulfilling morning exploring the valley, we returned to Rosalia’s Restaurant for breakfast. Alongside the steaming ginger soup—the standout dish of our meal—we enjoyed assorted fresh vegetables and delicately prepared tofu, which paired magnificently with the smoky flavor of the tinapa. The restaurant’s dedication to health and sustainability shone bright in every dish, reflecting the region’s bounty.
**Afternoon Activities**
Post-breakfast, we took time to relax and embrace the beauty of nature. The playing fields became a lively hub of activity as we engaged in light sports and games, strengthening our bonds and creating joyful memories.
**Departure**
By noon, we reluctantly checked out of our accommodation, wrapping up our delightful stay at Bangkong Kahoy Valley. This tranquil haven, with its seamless blend of nature, adventure, and rich cultural experiences, truly provided an unforgettable getaway that we hope others will also discover and enjoy.
