NFL Kickoff 2024 Recap: Game of Inches
Football is back, baby! I'm a die hard hockey fan, but I know very well that there is always something extra special about the NFL season. Among other things, it's mainly because the NFL season is so short, resulting in a very long offseason that is only interrupted by the Draft, the schedule announcement, and of course, preseason. Nearly seven months in-between the final seconds of the Super Bowl, and the first kickoff of the following season.

CFL Week 13 Recap: Labour Has Rewards
Labour Day Weekend is always a big deal in the Canadian Football League, and this year was no different. The Labour Day Weekend games are often important, but this year, it was especially important for those in the West Division, which, well, has seen better days. Entering Labour Day Weekend, the Saskatchewan Roughriders led the West Division at 5-5-1, even in spite of a five game winless stretch. Would the Riders continue to get away with skating by?

CFL Week 12 Recap: A Beautiful Disaster
Just when I think the CFL's West Division can't fall any farther into the proverbial abyss, Week 12 showed me how wrong I truly was. So Week 12 began with the team leading the West Division (because somebody had to), the Saskatchewan Roughriders, in Toronto facing an Argonauts team who was welcoming back Chad Kelly as QB, though I wasn't exactly welcoming. After all, I don't take kindly to guys who harass women, but hey, that's just me--and a lot of people in society.

A Look at the New 12-Team College Football Playoff Format
The NFL is just over two weeks away from starting, but regarding NCAA football, that is literally around the corner. The 2024 season of Division I football starts on Saturday, August 24 with a plethora of games all over the country and all around television. As long as I can remember, while the NFL owned Sundays, NCAA football owned Saturdays. Here in the West Coast, games aired as early as 9AM Pacific Standard Time, and the day of action usually spanned 12 hours.

CFL Week 11 Recap: The Mild, Mild West
Soooo...what just happened? We are now past the halfway mark of the 2024 CFL season, and things are getting quite messy out West. First off, the Calgary Stampeders began the week hosting the Ottawa Redblacks, and that matchup is always nostalgic to me, because these two teams played each other for the Grey Cup twice. With the Toronto Argonauts off that week, I really needed Calgary to pull off a victory here to put some pressure on Ottawa. It looked good for Calgary, until a last second Redblacks field goal killed things. 31-29 was the final score in Ottawa's favor, and that's another notch they've picked up over the Boatmen.

CFL Week 10 Recap: Deadlock
I absolutely, positively, love this league! So Week 10 kicked off with a meeting between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Ottawa Redblacks, and it was slow at first. Scoreless after one and only 3-3 at the half. Ottawa led 7-3 entering the fourth. Then the scoring picked up in the fourth, but the result saw nothing settled after sixty minutes. 13-13 after regulation. We get CFL overtime! Ottawa had the first possession, and it results in touchdown. Oh boy. By rule, no extra points, two point conversions are mandatory in OT. The Redblacks' conversion fails. This means the Riders can win it with an eight-point touchdown, and here's where the insanity starts. Ottawa commits defensive pass interference, doesn't get called. Challenge is made, call overturned. OT continues, Riders score! Two-pointer fails.
