2020 NFL Draft Review: Arizona Cardinals
Last year, many football fans expected the Arizona Cardinals to not be real competitive with a brand new head coach and a starting rookie quarterback right out of the gate for week 1. However, the Arizona Cardinals easily exceeded their expectations in the rugged NFC West. The other three teams in the conference (San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams) all finished with winning records in the regular season. Although the Arizona Cardinals finished with a 5-10-1 record, six of those ten losses were seven points or less.

Empty arena wrestling
Do you remember how it felt when you heard that ALL public activities were suspended? That dreaded oh no feeling! Like a WWE superstar going to Vince and getting his attention/time pitching a great story for a major push and then they sneeze. It was about 12 days from AEW: “Blood and Guts” in Newark, New Jersey on March 25th. I was selfishly pissed off because I had tickets and I didn’t understand the magnitude of the situation at the time. NJPW for obvious reasons were the first to close down in the wrestling world while both WWE and AEW decided to move forward with empty arenas.

A Potential Audience Saver
Tying together ideas about the new technologies that are on the cusp of coming out and present day challenges are something that might not be expected in this journal entry. After the tandem of reading the Canadian Media Fund report from January 2020 entitled “Closer, Wider, Faster: Annual Trends Report in the Audiovisual Industry” and watching an interview conducted by Scott Brown with Winnipeg Jets’ forward Andrew Copp, to write about both of these presentations, which may not seem related on the surface was the only way to scribe this analysis. Sometimes, necessity is the mother of invention -- or in this case, the kick in the butt that it needs to be utilized in a way it may not have originally been envisioned. Though the chances of the ideas being set forth in this writing are slim to none, if they are imagined and shared by a lone hockey reporter who thinks outside the box much of the time, this idea is no longer a silent imagining. The idea will be presented, with the hopes it may be utilized sometime in the near future.
