10 Best-Rated Books on Bitcoin
If you're like most people (including myself, for a time), every time you hear the words "Bitcoin" and "blockchain," you nod and squint your eyes to make it seem you know those subjects like the back of your hand. You might even throw out an incredibly vague and general statement that, while potentially true, offers no real value. "It certainly will affect the economy in the long-term," and "It's the way of the future, other money simply can't compete," were my favorite go-to's. Truth be told, I didn't even know if those were true, but it sounded like they were.

Good Girls, Bad Boys, and Relationship Power Dynamics
I left an abusive relationship almost 10 years ago, and I’ve been through counseling, therapy, a domestic abuse recovery program, and I’m still not completely over what happened to me. The process has helped me understand what went on, learn more about myself, and to rebuild my life. Having had the chance to learn about the structure of abuse, and to examine my own feelings about myself and about relationships, I’ve figured a lot of shit out. This knowledge has given me more confidence, and with confidence I’m less inclined to tolerate other people’s crap. So instead of getting caught up in destructive thought patterns about whether or not I’m good enough, or if I should be trying to please someone else, I’ve allowed myself the space to reflect and identify patterns that I don’t want to repeat.

Golden Days of Hollywood
In the early days of Hollywood when everything was just coming together, actors and actresses were adored by fans and they all seemed to put them on pedestals. Two such film actors were a much-admired couple: Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. When they got married and went to London, England for their honeymoon on June 21st, 1920, they were greeted by lots of admiring fans. Since 1919, Pickford and Fairbanks had been business partners who got together with Charlie Chaplin and director D.W. Griffith to set up United Artists. After the couple got married, Fairbanks gave Pickford a 22 room estate as a wedding present, which included the first swimming pool in Beverly Hills located in Los Angeles, California. They named the property “Pickfair.”

Urban Exploration (Urbex): The 'Why'
Urban exploration, simply put, is the exploration of buildings and places that have been "left behind" or abandoned, and are now in a state of dereliction and disrepair or ruin. Buildings visited range from stately homes to lowly farmhouses, hospitals and asylums, to factories and mills. Also popular are churches or other places of worship, hotels, schools, and even prisons—however, any built infrastructure lends potential.

Spy in the Sky
Do you ever get the feeling someone is watching? It's not your imagination, especially if you are in the UK or China. While China has the global record for the most cameras, the UK wins if you count per capita. With an approximate number of 500,000, a typical Brit is on camera 300 times a day. The topic is controversial wherever you go. Is privacy being invaded? CCTV is restricted to public areas where people are not supposed to expect privacy. If people can see you, why not cameras? If you've got nothing to hide, what's the difference, right? Some Americans might take issue after the April 15, 2013, bombing of the Boston Marathon. Brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were known simply as Black Hat and White Hat. CCTV followed their blurred images before, during, and after the two bombs went off, and it led to their arrest.

Things Your Friend Won't Tell You About the Big C
I always hate introducing myself to people. Mostly because I do not have a filter. I share way too much way too soon. My story starts like every other story—with an accident. At 16 years old, I was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in the soft tissue of my right shoulder. The only reason my doctors discovered it in time was that I hurt myself at work the week before. High school is difficult enough, but to have cancer your junior year? Unbelievable.

Cereal Dating With Alison Wonderland
It is a rare occasion that one gets to sit down and really pick the brain of an artist whose style and sound they truly admire, so when I was offered the chance to interview Alison Wonderland, I must admit that I had a small fan girl moment.

Interview with We Sway's Founder, Danny Tirmizi
Have you ever wondered how brands were able to get major pop icons and local celebrities to tout their products? In the past, it actually used to be very difficult. Entire agencies would need to be employed in order to get the right person with the right business. Now that people are increasingly interested in keeping up with social media influencers, one group has created an app that promises to change the way businesses do social media.

Good Egg Puns Are Hard – Good Eggs Shouldn’t Be
Eggs are sexy. I don’t care what anyone says, and if you don’t like eggs, you’re wrong (barring you poor souls with egg allergies, my heart bleeds for you). The stories about cooking eggs being used as an interview in great kitchens? Yup, it’s a thing. I almost had to make the maple poached eggs I covered in my post on maple for a stage once, and just the mention of the things got me the interview. What I’m saying is, eggs are no joke (insert pun here). My everyday breakfast food? Eggs, in some way shape or form. Rent meal staple? Eggs, in shakshuka or in a spicy cream sauce with chickpeas, and if you feel like it, prosciutto. My death row meal? Probably eggs, to be honest. Keep your lobster, truffles, and wagyu, and lay me down with a scramble or eggs Benny.

10 of the All-Time Coolest Jerseys in Sports
Stadiums and jerseys are not given as much attention as players and coaches are by the media. However, they can be just as big a part of the team as any star player—maybe even more so. Many of baseball's most beautiful ballparks have name and brand recognition that are known by millions of people, and the same can be said for jerseys. Whether it be the design, color scheme, style, or hidden meaning in the logo, they are recognized around the world and are sewn into the identity and reputation of the team.

Stocks That Offer Shareholder Perks
Owning a stock is a great way to make your money work for you, and as most people will tell you, the longer you own it, the more you will be able to profit from them as they increase. Dividends are typically seen as the "ultimate perk" of stocks, since they offer direct payments to the shareholders at least once a year and are definitely a benefit to consider before purchasing stocks.

Two Bodies, One Spirit
The creature frozen in place lies there on the ground. Breathing slightly, emulating how I felt with the wound in my side. Weak, growing colder by the minute becoming more and more lifeless. I stared into the eyes of the creature, seeing the spark of gold in them now seemed to be fleeting away with every breath that expelled from both of our bodies. I wanted to speak, I wanted to comfort it, for it was obvious that we were connected somehow and knowing that it was in the same pain I was in made me want to take all the pain only onto myself. I wanted to spare this poor creature from the agony, that would lead to a slow death.
