My Mind at the Movies
The first movie I can ever recall seeing was Free Willy. I was only 3-years-old and I have this memory of sitting on the carpet, neck craned, staring directly up at the television as the movie played out. I was completely in awe of everything I was looking at. That may have started my life long love of whales, but I believe it also started my stronger obsession with film. I used to watch that movie over and over again on repeat, sometimes getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning to sneak downstairs and put the tape in the VCR. Eventually, the sound became worn out on all three Free Willy VHS tapes I had.

The History and Significance of Entertainment Shows in Vegas
Vegas needs music like music needs Vegas. The two are inextricably linked. Vegas has hosted some of the greatest shows of all time, including record-breakingly long runs that have defied the odds. Elvis, for example, performed for an incredible run in Vegas between 1969-76 that included 837 consecutive sell-outs. Vegas always does things big – like finding the biggest stars and paying them big money to perform at big venues. Just look at Celine Dion, who earns approximately $500,000 per performance for a 70 nights-a-year contract. But how did Vegas become such a magnet for stars and audiences, and how has it managed to evolve alongside changing trends in music and culture?

Feminism
You hear "feminism" and your mind instantly goes into arguing mode. Stop. "Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." This movement is entirely about equality. Not about women being better than men or vice versa. All women want is equality. In the job world, women still get paid less for doing the same job as a man simply because they are women. We get told we can't do certain jobs because it's not what a woman should do. What exactly is a woman meant to do? Has that been set in stone? No. We are all able to do whatever we want. A lot of people still believe women shouldn't be the breadwinner or earn more than a man. Some even still believe women shouldn't be in certain job roles because it's "too much" for them. I say screw all those opinions. I class myself as a strong, independent woman who can achieve anything she puts her mind to. I have massive goals for my lifetime in a field that is mainly male dominated, but I intend to work hard and make my way to the top. Hard work is what is needed to get to where we all want to be. If I work hard enough to get to the position I want to be in, then who on this earth has the right to take that away from me? I try to encourage my friends to work just as hard and achieve everything they want. Positive enforcement is sometimes all that's needed to trigger something in someone's mind to make them believe they can do anything in this world.

Top 10 Products for Getting Rid of Unwanted Facial Hair
There's nothing I hate dealing with more than facial hair. The sight of it bothers the hell out of me and I really... really hate it when it gets in the way of my makeup. Whenever I'm applying foundation or powder, the foundation doesn't properly buff into my skin because the little strands of peach fuzz are making my makeup look streaky. Then when I set my foundation with power, all of the strands are sticking up and my makeup looks ugly.

The Lonely Sports
People love to talk about the "community" aspect of sports. They talk about the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team, about the human instinct to work together and how sports facilitate that. They talk about teamwork and fulfillment and friendship and trust. But those are the sociable sports—the team sports.

When Age Is a Problem at Work
A friend of mine had finally gotten into a comfortable groove with her boss who was an executive at the company where she worked. The both of them were close in age and had an understanding of how each other worked. Her boss retired and was quickly replaced by a man a couple of decades younger. Rumors rumbled that middle-aged and senior employees may be let go. My friend didn’t believe what she was hearing. Many of the co-workers, including herself, had been with the company for several years. Surely their experience and longevity would mean something. Then the new boss appeared to not warm up to her, and her co-workers were laid-off. She was one of the last to be let go.

Ultimate Guide of Fruits and Vegetables that Dogs Can and Cannot Eat
I have a rescue pit bull named Xander, so I know a thing or two about the fruits and vegetables that dogs can and cannot eat. It's especially a big deal for me because I belong to a community garden and eat a whole food diet. There's no refined sugar in my house, despite the protestations of my son Jarret. I tell him he can eat junk food at his mom's! But even though it might seem like fruits and veggies are okay for Xander because they're all natural, that's actually far from true!

The Bronx Vegan Eats: Hungry Bird
Indian food can never do wrong in my eyes. It’s the melodious blend of spices and textures that makes me crave this cuisine on special days. The last time I had Indian food was before my vegan transition where I was quite obsessed with chicken tikka masala and other meals that included meat. I thought my days of enjoying this food was over, until I stumbled upon Healthy Bird.

Ways to Save for an Emergency Fund on a Budget
It's no shocker that having cash on hand is great. A little bit of free money can help you get out of an emergency situation that would cost way more on credit, or worse, just be downright devastating if you didn't have money to avoid it. Even every trader should have an emergency fund.

Top 10 Must-Read Detective Crime Novels
"Just one more chapter, then I'll go to sleep, I promise..." Anybody who loves reading will be familiar with this phrase. Then you find yourself up into the latest hours of the night because you said "one more chapter" one too many times. While this phenomenon can happen with any genre, it seems to be the most common, at least for me, with detective crime novels. There's something about that sense of mystery that makes the idea of that next chapter oh so appealing.
