The Morning Routines of Successful People. Created with: Daily Harvest.
There are two types of people in the world: the risers, who hit the ground running at the first whisper of their alarm clock, and the snoozers, who prefer to hit their favorite button a few times as they slowly wind themselves up for the day. I am a riser. I always have been. For me, mornings are delightful, the rising sun a source of boundless energy and optimism. My boyfriend on the other hand is a maximum snoozer. He has a tendency to delay the inevitable moment of awakening to the last possible moment, working his alarm to the point of exhaustion, when the whispers become shrieks so loud that I wonder if he is the only one in the neighborhood left to acknowledge them. I often give him a hard time for this lifestyle choice he seems so attached to but, if I’m being honest, mornings can actually be a struggle for me too, albeit in a different way.

How to Eat More Consciously, for You and the Planet. Created with: Daily Harvest.
I have always known that food is mood. I have always been aware that what I put in my body results in what comes out of my body. Along my health journey I have also realized, like many of us, that whole and natural foods make me feel the best, and keep me smiling. Whole and natural foods are those that come from the earth and are not processed.

Prose of The Fool
The first step is the hardest. Could it be because there’s no more land beneath your feet after that first step? The dog is barking with urgency, while your heart is beating with passion, and your foot hovers over a ledge taunting gravity and fate. Calling you The Fool isn’t an insult to your bravery nor an applause. You are pure adrenaline, you are the heart falling into the stomach, the stomach jumping into the throat. You might be naive or tired of everyone calling you what you’re not. You’re just The Fool facing this new beginning that may have been by Chance, but that’s no reason to pass it up.

On ‘Daisies’ and Why it does Matter
The Czech New Wave was a film movement that emerged in 1963 which writer Simon Hitchman in his 2015 article suggested was due to increasing pressure for socio-political reform within Czechoslovakia. The country was in the midst of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (CSR) period in which the country was under communist rule. Film makers needed a voice to combat this oppressive rule and thus the New Wave movement began. During this period, a renowned female director, Vera Chytilova; ‘first lady of Czech cinema,’ according to Fox in 2014, released the film Daisies in 1966. The film is a 70-minute experimental, absurdist look at two young girls who, after deciding that the world ‘has gone bad’ decide that they themselves will ‘go bad’ too. They embark on a series of anarchic, destructive behaviours as a rebellion against society. Theorist Shaviro in 2007 wrote that he regarded Daisies as a ‘violently nihilistic assault’ against the conventions of filmmaking, social normalities and even the spectator themselves.

'Mamba' In
“Mamba out.” With two words, arguably one of the greatest basketball players in history left the court of the Staples Centre for the final time. After twenty loyal years playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant set the bar for athletes to not only reach, but to aspire to. He was the king of the court as well as its greatest promoter. My Karaoke No-Fly List
I love karaoke. You could say that I am like a duck in water in regards to it. No, not the Asian type karaoke where you rent out a room and croon to close friends and try to decipher the remote iconography that is in a different language, but more of our Western style karaoke where we perform in front of audiences that in a utopia also includes people who aren’t other singers and where there is the KJ running the show. A KJ (karaoke jockey) who provides order to chaos, brings energy and personality to the show, a good sound system, and whenever possible, a large variety of quality backup tracks.

10 Life Lessons From Nature
How to connect and flow with source energy for inspiration, faith, and peace of mind. It’s easy to think of nature as “out there”, something separate from us, but this incredible Universe we are a part of, connected with, are one with, can teach us a lot about life and ourselves. We experience the same cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth many times throughout our lives, we just resist. We struggle and fight against the elements in our environment and the ups and downs on the journey, trying to push things in the way we feel they should go or be, instead of allowing the natural flow and trusting in the process.

Antevasin
So, you might be reading this upon reflection of your recent wanderlust adventures. Remembering those nights under skies and stars. Those passing days that mingled perfectly; its fulfilment and satisfaction based entirely around the square parameters of a city map in the palm of your hand. You are craving it again. To be out there in the wilderness, happily lost amidst the perfect chaos of it all. Where nobody knows who you are, nor do they care or expect anything from you but a passing smile on the streets of somewhere. Well let me tell you, that feeling that you keep homing in on constantly is not a negative one at all. It's your inner consciousness coming out, giving you a navigation to who you actually are. It’s as if the inner chemistry of your body repels the connections that it has already sought and lived through before; the paleo pull is dramatically pulling you elsewhere. But the question is to where, why and what is the journey like ahead for those who cannot remain in one place for too long?

1917: The Frontline Review
World War One is a period of time that doesn't receive a lot of attention in the movie industry. Maybe it is because the powers that be got involved for less-than-noble reasons, so it wouldn't seem right to try and make a film on the matter. But for the hundreds of thousands of everyman soldiers that thought and died in battle, this was just them following orders, even if they didn't always agree with them.

Global Maternal Mortality - Infographic Stud
The world has changed, but not yet for the best, especially for women. Though the condition is now much better than it was centuries ago, we are still far from our goal of equality between men and women. There is absolutely no reason for women to die at the rate they are dying today.
