Zelenskyy in Conversation.

Speaking to Sky News.

President Zelenskyy.

Now Ukraine has fired 'ATACMS' and 'Storm Shadow' missiles into Russia some say it is "Too little, too late"! In other words, the Ukrainians should have been allowed to fire these projectiles earlier in the war. Would it have made any difference though? Biden and Starmer did not allow their use in Russia because they were cautious of Vlad The Invader's reaction. And so it has come to pass, in response to these Western missiles hitting Russia, Russia hit Ukraine with hypersonic missiles. These missiles carry multiple warheads and cannot be shot down. Russia has hit Ukraine's energy grid knocking off line power to thousands of Ukrainian citizens. Putin has also lowered the threshold now so he can easily use his nukes if needs be.

Despite backing from Western nations and sacrifice on the battlefront of Ukrainian soldiers, Zelenskyy is losing the war. Russia holds the Dombass and the Crimean Peninsula. Russia is moving forward backed by 10,000 North Korean troops. The war has also cost Russia much, however, Russia has more men and machines to throw at Ukraine. In this phase of the war, this is now beginning to tell. Ukraine is running out of men and machines to stop the Russian advance.

With Trump entering the White House nobody knows what he will do. He has spoken about bringing this war to an end. Zelenskyy has met with Trump and is coming around to the realization he will have to surrender land. Land that he wanted to get back from Russia within Ukraine. That is the Dombass and Crimea, however, these areas are under Russian control. And will likely stay under their control in any peace deal. Zelenskyy like a chameleon knows he has to change his colours to suit his surroundings. With Biden, it was one colour and Trump, it will be another colour. To survive Zelenskyy knows he must change to adapt to whoever is in the White House.

With Biden, he had everything handed to him on a plate. With Trump, he knows help won't be so forthcoming. Trump will likely want this war wrapped up. With Zelenskyy ruling over a rump Ukraine and Putin holding onto the land he has taken. However, Zelenskyy does have one trump card (no pun intended) he holds onto a piece of Russian territory. This may be a smart move in any negotiations.

Zelenskyy remains the only man to invade Russia besides Napoleon and Hitler. Not that Zelenskyy wants to be compared with either despot!

Zelenskyy has been talking to Sky News about the events unfolding in his country. Mr. Zelenskyy has made no bones about the bitterness and hatred he holds, for Putin. He called Putin "a terrorist" and "a killer". He called Olaf Scholtz speaking to Putin directly as not understanding Putin.

Zelenskyy would describe any negotiation between the West and Putin as naive. However, if there is to be peace, even if it's just peace for a while, this will have to happen. Putin and Zelenskyy may have to get around the table themselves to talk peace or at the very least, send delegations. The West cannot keep holding Ukraine's hand. The West can be in the background, however, whether it's via back channels or direct talks, Russia and Ukraine must talk, if there is there is to be peace (whether that peace is long-term or shorter).

Zelenskyy has always said if Putin conquers Ukraine he will not stop. He would continue his conquest of Europe. Whether Putin would do that or not is open to question. Putin knows any more military engagements would be met with a NATO response. Putin knows this would be the first major combat in Europe since WWII. And once you start a war only God knows where it will end. On the other hand, Putin may be so crazed that he might attack Poland and Europe in general.
