Trump: Hell Break Out 2.0.

Trump Threatens Hamas!

By Nicholas BishopPublished 11 months ago 3 min read
Cartoon of Trump.

Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire. Two reasons they give are:

1. They don't trust Israel (nothing new there).

2. They accuse the IDF of firing on Gazan refugees going back to the north.

3. Israel for its part has told its troops to be ready for action.

The ceasefire has been going relatively well, with swaps of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners. Both hostages and prisoners have suffered in captivity. However, thank God, they are now back with their families.

The ceasefire though could be under threat. Hamas says it will postpone the release of further hostages because of the above violations. Trump threatened originally that if Hamas and Israel did not abide by the ceasefire drawn up by himself and Biden, "All hell would break loose"!

That seemed to catapult both sides that they would abide by the ceasefire. Trump has now intervened in this glitch in the truce and put the onus of getting it back on track, on Hamas alone. Saying in no uncertain terms, "All hell will break loose if all remaining Israeli hostages are not set free by noon this Saturday".

What this "hell" will look like cannot be said. It's either a bluff or it will happen. Is Hamas willing to put this to the test on Saturday?

Trump hasn't helped the situation from the Palestinian point of view. Why, because Trump said he would acquire Gaza and own it, rebuild it, and turn it into a paradise of the Med. That sounds great, right? Palestinians living in a capitalist paradise and earning good money in service industries?

Wrong, Trump wants the Gazans out, lock, stock, and barrel. This is a far-right dream for people like Smotrich and Ben-Gvir. Trump is empowering the fascist element in Israel and it seems, he doesn't care. Trump admitted his statement "All hell would break loose" are his own words. If Israel wanted to "override" the ceasefire and go back to war, that's up to them. Trump is now showing his true Zionist colours. Meeting with Netanyahu over the weekend in Washington DC, he seemed to shore up the US's relationship with Israel. Trump has granted Israel millions of dollars worth of weapons. So no surprise there then with Trump acting like Trump 1.0.

Trump when asked if Gazans could return to this paradise said "No". Others in his cabinet, however, said they could, once Gaza was restored to this "Singapore" of the Mediterranean. Trump has contradicted his cabinet members saying the Gazans will never return. Gaza will be peopled by anyone but the original inhabitants. Trump expects Egypt, Jordan and even Saudi Arabia to take in Gazans.

However, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have pushed back and said "No". They know once all the Gazans are gone, the dream of a Palestinian state is over. They will not be part of a "Nachbar" 2.0 (check your history). They also do not want to get involved in Palestinian attacks on Israel. These attacks will be launched from their territory. Any Israeli response will hit Palestinian communities in their countries. And this may put Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia technically at war with Israel. They do not want such scenarios and it is easy to see why.

King Abdullah of Jordan has threatened war with Israel if Palestinians leave. The King is due to meet with Trump so let's see what comes of this. Trump rightly said the Gazans are living in a "Demolition site" with dead bodies, disease, unexploded ordinance, etc. Trump is right in saying these people need to be rescued and helped, and Gaza rebuilt.

However, requiring people to move when they have lived on that land for millennia (with no chance of returning) is gross. Whichever way you look at it and whatever Trump's intentions are, shifting an entire population (against their will in the main) is breaking international law.

The Gazans themselves already traumatized by the war have refused to go. And why should they go? The days ahead are going to be tense. All people in this tense situation need lasting peace, but finding that peace is the problem.

Trump wants to finish his Abarham Accord plan. In the original plan, Trump got Israel, Qatar, UAE, and other Gulf Arab states to sign a peace deal. It normalised relations between Israel and these Arab nations. The one thing he couldn't do was bring Israel and Saudi Arabia together.

Trump wants to finish the Abraham Accords with Saudi and Israel signing a lasting peace deal. To normalize the relationship between KSA and the Jewish state.

However, KSA will have one proviso, the Palestinians must have their state. If the US and Israel agree to this with concrete plans to bring this about, then KSA will make peace with Israel. Let's see how things proceed in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead.
