Lisa Nandy: Pushes Back Against Trump.
Echoes Other European Countries' Stance on Greenland.

Northern English MP and Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has voiced her government's opposition to Trump's meanderings on Greenland. She echoed her boss, Sir Keir Starmer, who has pronounced Trump's imposition of 10% tariffs on UK imports in the US as "Wrong". The UK, along with other European nations are standing up to Trump. They are standing against Trump's desire to buy Greenland. Hence, Trump is imposing 10% tariffs by 1 February, rising to 25% by 1 June if there is no agreement on Trump acquiring the biggest island in the world. Yes, folks, in case you didn't know, Greenland is not a continent, unlike Australia. The frozen territory is classified as an island geographically.
Ms. Nandy in the Telegraph said her government's stance on Greenland was "Non-negotiable". Echoing Trump's own statement that buying Greenland was also"Non-negotiable". Trump has expressed suspicion on his social media company, Truth Social. Suspicion as to why Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and France have sent troops to Greenland. Asking what these European nations are up to by sending their militaries to Greenland. He said these actions are endangering the planet. What could Trump possibly mean by this? Is he saying that by doing this action, it is a direct challenge to his authority and the US? If so, besides wanting to buy Greenland, what is Trump insinuating?
Invading Greenland has been mentioned, so are we looking at a scenario where NATO members actually fight each other? If the US launches a full-scale invasion of Greenland, it would come against the forces of Europe? Allies turning on each other over Greenland? I think, hope, and pray that this would never happen. It's more probable that a negotiated settlement could come into place.
On the other hand, a conflict between Europe and the US would have been out of the question years ago. Now with such "no negotiation" stances on both sides, could it be possible? Well, in this day and age, it wouldn't surprise me. Trump mentioned intervening in Venezuela, Panama, Mexico, Canada, and Greenland before. Many just put it down to bravado, saying it's only Trump, "All mouth and no action".
However, since Trump intervened in Venezuela, bombed Caracas, and fought with Maduro's Cuban bodyguards and captured the Saddam look- alike leader and his wife, who are standing trial in New York, Trump seems to be on a power trip. The above countries, which he mentioned before, are coming under Trump's scrutiny again.
The fear of Trump launching military action in these places has truly upset the apple cart worldwide. For European nations to send their armed forces to Greenland shows they are taking this threat seriously. Trump may not make good on his threats of military intervention, but on the other hand, given Trump's unpredictability, it is better to be prepared.
Trump's stance was that he would be the president to "end all wars" or "forever wars". He trumpets to the rafters how he has stopped 8 wars since he has retaken power. Indeed, there does seem to be something to what he has said. The 20-point peace plan he devised between Gaza and Israel is holding. However, both Israel and Hamas remain in breach of this agreement. Israel is supposed to be withdrawing from the territory of Gaza, but it is not. It has attacked targets in Gaza, killing Palestinian civilians. Hamas is still standing and refuses to disarm. The second point of the plan is coming into being. Palestinian technocrats have got together to rule Gaza while the territory is rebuilt and the people rehabilitated. But given Hamas's stance and Israel's stance, this second part of the plan has teething troubles. The much-talked-about Russia-Ukraine conflict and Trump getting both sides on board to stop the war have yet to happen.
The only people benefiting from this NATO squabble are the Russians, Chinese, Iranians, and North Koreans, and that is a real worry. These countries that are foes of the West will be hoping that this internal argument within NATO over Greenland will keep the heat off them.
