That’s not what debating’s all about. You sit behind a computer and do a debate — it’s ridiculous. And then they cut you off whenever they want.”

Hypocrisies of a Nation Reading the origins of Defamation was an “eye-opener” for me. It touched on multiple issues of law, that were influenced by opinion, religion, or some other bias influencer. I don’t want to lose my thought process, but as this is a journal, I feel I should dictate my thoughts on it before I continue with my assignment. History shows the origins of most of our laws are influenced by some sort of religious background rather than the more objective approach of ethics. If our Constitution holds a clause that should uphold the Separation of Church and State, then why are so many courts and laws influenced by religion? “Some critics of the courts' interpretations of the principle of separation of church and state have argued for the protections of some aspects of religion in government practices. Believing the United States to be a Christian nation, founded on Judeo-Christian religious beliefs, these critics argue that the federal government is only prohibited from establishing a religion at the national level and from interfering with the establishment of religion in the states, but not required to stamp out any hint of religious reference in governmental actions,” (Bailey, 2018).

Why denial over slavery is unpatriotic.
I believe that if I were to hold a spontaneous quiz about the substance of the 1619 project and ask Trump supporters to articulate any of the goals associated with this project, they would fail. The vast majority would likely describe the project as anti-American, a sustained effort by American academics to taint the purity of American exceptionalism. Few are likely to be concerned about the extent to which institutionalized slavery profoundly shaped and continues to affect contemporary social institutions.

A Reflection of a year of unrest
The most painful year, to say the least, see the silverling before the people start coming t me as if I am not expressing my pain. I am a black woman, I have black children, and the world that I see around me is not what I want my children to grow up in yet be apart of such hate. I practice love, kindness, and patience with my children. I don't want them to grow up hating anyone, primarily because of their skin color. Where are we safe as black people? Black people are continually broke down to less than our white counterparts. Which is a tactic to make the other person feel superior because our black lives scare them that we would be somehow become "superior" to them? A saying goes, "You fear what you don't understand." To just try to get to know us as people, you will see the perception taught or thoughts is utterly wrong for the majority.

The Electoral College and its Purpose.
The Electoral College and its Purpose It is a normal process of life to outgrow, adapt, and change social normality’s, such as the way we dress, how we talk, and even what we eat. These changes occur because of society, we as people have learned to respect each other, grow together, and fight for a common goal. However, the same is not true for our government, as the people of the United States, we should expect the same practice of change in government processes, especially when we have outgrown a major component in the way our government officials are elected, most importantly the president. The topic of decision is the electoral college, created during a time of social separation, based off of race, gender, and economic class. These separations no longer determine our way of living and interacting, but for our people elected to pose change, the process of electing them does not follow this same structure. The electoral college is outdated and should no longer be a part of the election process.

Eisenhower Memorial About a few weeks ago, President Eisenhower's Memorial was unveiled in Washington DC. As a celebration of it, I have developed the below word search. Some of President Eisenhower’s successes included fighting in World War II (before he became President), development of our infrastructure (roads, bridges, highways), and bringing in the National Guard when a school in Arkansas would not follow desegregation rules that came as a result of a Supreme Court case.
