Keir Using Trumpian Language.
Labour Gets Tough!

Nigel Farage and Reform UK, have put the wind up the Tories and Labour. Farage has set his goal of being Prime Minister by 2029. In a recent opinion poll by Sky/YouGov, Reform UK is ahead of Labour and the Conservatives. Immigration is the issue that has propelled Reform to the top of this poll:
Reform UK: 25%
Labour: 24%
Conservative: 21%.
Labour has pushed immigration to the top of its agenda. It knows to out- "perform Reform", it must show it is being tough on illegal migrants and immigrants. So the Labour fightback has begun with a campaign to target Farage and Reform.
Labour has waxed lyrical about its crackdown on illegal foreigners. Quoting figures that allegedly show Labour has flown out illegals on a grand scale. Raids by Border Force Officers on nail bars, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and takeaways, are being enacted. A video has been released of officers raiding such places. Where illegals, a horrible phrase I know, are cuffed and taken away. Another video or the same video, shows foreigners with no right to be here flying out of the UK.
Another poll, by Opinium and The Observer, shows some voters trust Labour on the above. Labour is at 27%, Reform UK at 25%, and the Conservatives at 22%. Is this evidence, that floating voters concerned about illegals, are choosing Labour? Moving away from Farage and Reform UK. Not convinced by Kemi Badenoch and the Conservatives either?
Labour scrapped the now-defunct Rwanda Scheme. Illegals never the less are being flown out. Employing illegals where they work under the radar, is an offence. Those exploiting these people are also being dealt with. The working conditions of many of these illegals are dire. The pay is poor and workers are held in slave-like conditions. People trafficking and modern slavery are a thing. Starmer has said he wants to crack down not only on illegals but people smugglers too.
So in using Trumpian language, Sir Keir knows immigration is an issue. Many on the left of Labour, will be appalled, by this and that's understandable. Of course, we want to help those less fortunate, Native Brits or from somewhere else. However, we realize we cannot take everyone from everywhere, all at once! Our NHS, welfare system, housing, employment, etc, are creaking.
We must remain compassionate for people fleeing wars, famines, and environmental degradation.
We must also take on board the concerns of Native Brits too. Stop labelling them as racists or Nazis although, some may be. Realize they have genuine concerns about immigration and migration.
When groups like 'Hope Not Hate' say refugees, immigrants, migrants illegal or not, are welcome, is all well and good. However, the reality is the more people in the country the more pressure on our infrastructure. The more likely people will turn to Reform UK.
With the rise of Reform UK and Labour reacting to combat them on their turf, it's not unique. In Germany with the rise of the Alternative for Deutschland, the Christian Democrats (Likely to be the next government of Germany) have adopted some views of the AfD. Many German parties like the Greens, SPD, and the Christian Democrats have refused to work with the AFD. By adopting and dealing with the concerns of the electorate over immigration/migration they hope to stop the rise of the right.
So it seems Sir Keir is doing the same in the UK. Labour is thinking if it cannot beat Reform it will outdo them. And certainly, that is true, so that issues like immigration can be genuinely, dealt with. All of this is a fine line and is a balance between those seeking help from elsewhere and the concerns of native populations.
