Calling Moscow - 33

Early October news and advice exchange

Ukrainian political cartoonist Oleh Smal, specially for the author

This conversation happened on October 2, 2024, after the vice-presidential debate of Oct.1 and as Special Counsel Jack Smith unsealed new evidence in the 2020 election interference case against Trump.

“Hello, Vlad?”

“Yes, Donnie.”

“Have you seen my guy JD in the debate yesterday?”

“No, Donnie, I didn't watch even your debate, remember? Was it good?”

“JD killed it! He was so good, I was very proud of him. I couldn't have done it better myself. A little boring, but he kicked the weird guy's ass. I of course would have done it better by hitting him even harder, but JD gave it to him good.”

“I'm glad to hear that. So, you think you can win this thing now?”

“Of course. If we don't, it's rigged. And if it's rigged, we will do something a lot more drastic than January 6. Much more drastic.”

“Yeah? What's that, Donnie?”

“You'll see, Vlad. I hope it doesn't come down to that, but we won't simply give up. We won't let them rig the election anymore.”

“I like your fighting spirit, Donnie. Keep it up.”

“I will, Vlad, thank you. Oh-oh, just give me a second.” [checks an incoming text] “Oh, f*ck, I just got a text that the deranged Jack Smith unsealed new evidence in the January 6 case. Can you imagine he just did that, Vlad?”

“What does it mean, Donnie?”

“I don’t know yet, Vlad, I need to speak with my lawyers, but it cannot be good. Nothing good ever comes from that deranged hack.”

“I hope it can be sorted out, Donnie.”

“Well, we are just a month away from the election. Nothing will happen between now and then, it’s too close. Too close, Vlad. And when I become president again, I will just stop all this BS and put Jack Smith to prison. He will regret what he is doing to me. He will regret it bigly.”

“That’s the spirit, Donnie! Keep it up!”

“I’m so pumped, Vlad! I hate that guy so much! He will pay for what he is putting me through. He will definitely pay for it dearly.”

“On another note, Donnie, how’s your Truth Social stock doing?”

“It’s going up, Vlad! It’s going up beautifully!”

“Really? Not what I see on the stock chart, it hit the lowest of $11 on September 24.”

“Yeah, but it’s only because those two jerks, co-founders I’m suing, unloaded their shares. They sold more than 7.5 million of their shares, Vlad, can you imagine? Left just 100 on their books. But the stock rebounded since then.”

“What is your estimated value of it now, Donnie?”

“Almost 2 billion. I’d only know for sure when I decide to sell, but it’s anywhere between 1.7-2 billion. It’s doing so well now. Tremendously well.”

“Decide it, Donnie. Decide right now.”

“Decide what?”

“Sell your stock, Donnie. I need my money back. Did you forget you owe me?”

“Of course not, Vlad. How could I forget that! But if I sell now, I will lose both loads of money and my platform before the election. I cannot lose my platform where I can speak to my supporters directly, Vlad.”

“You can always go back to Twitter, or X, or whatever it is called now. They love you there, and Elon would be happy to give you voice.”

“But why can’t it wait until after the election, Vlad? Can’t you wait for one more month?”

“If you lose the election, Donnie, that stock will be worthless.”

“You don’t have much faith in me, do you, Vlad?”

“Nothing personal, Donnie, as you Americans say, strictly business. I need my money back.”

“If I sell the stock now, Vlad, Truth Social will die, and it may cost me the election. Please let me do that after the election, the stock will go up even more and we’ll get more money out of it.”

“It’s a big risk, Donnie. What if you sell it right before the election, like on November 4?”

“Well, that might be a good solution, Vlad. The stock may have gone up even more, and after the election I could just go to X.”

“Promise me you’ll do that, Donnie.”

“I promise you to think about it, Vlad. I’ll also speak with my lawyers and my tech bros.”

“I hope they give you good advice, Donnie. Otherwise, I may have to resort to some other means to get my money back. That won’t be pretty. Have to go now, Donnie, bye.” [hangs up abruptly]

Trump, after hanging up, “His threats are not that veiled anymore. Need to get good advice on that.”

Omg, if he really sells the stock on the day of the election, it'll just be adding to the list of things about him people will rightfully bitch about, lol.

A different dimension with a rich imagination. What a wonderful and intriguing discussion. Political tension combined with a personal stake in the atmosphere.

  • Lol, I wonder how Vlad would get his money back if Donnie doesn't keep his promise
