What is the purpose of a person's life?
What keeps you going?

People live their lives to pursue a better and higher-quality life, making their existence more remarkable. With such aspirations, life seems to have a purpose; otherwise, it feels rather meaningless. Therefore, it's necessary to set goals for oneself and engage in activities that one considers meaningful. For instance, writing articles on Zhihu, making friends, and sharing experiences can be a way to pass the time and alleviate the monotony of life. Otherwise, life would be too boring, with each day being a mechanical repetition. Repeating over and over again can lead to a sense of weariness towards life. Additionally, apart from work and daily life, one should cultivate their mind and improve their inner self. When the mind is well-cultivated, one can have a more open perspective on life. With an open mind, there's no need to strive so hard for certain things, such as money. Having less money causes anxiety; having more money also brings anxiety.
Then, to cultivate the mind, one must be engaged in the world while having a transcendent heart. After all, people have to live, and living is inseparable from all the people and things around us; we cannot escape them. So what should we do? It is to be present in the world but not be attached to it. The body is on the ground, but the heart is in the sky. This requires the wisdom of life. Without wisdom, one cannot understand the truth. If one cannot generate wisdom based on the truth, one cannot see through the emptiness of the five aggregates of the body and mind. The false body plus the false mind, the five aggregates of the body and mind are inherently empty and ultimately unattainable. As the saying goes, "A thousand rooms are of no use at night when one only needs three feet of space." More is not necessarily better. Even if one is practicing, if one has not transcended the five aggregates of the body and mind, the false body and false mind are still attached to the five aggregates of the body and mind. Therefore, there is no wisdom. If one cannot generate true wisdom based on the truth and see through the emptiness of the five aggregates, one cannot reach the state of non-attachment, which means one lacks wisdom. It is precisely because of the lack of wisdom that one cannot be detached.
If one cannot discern the true nature of the five aggregates and is entangled by delusory states and troubled by worldly affairs, one will generate afflictions. Without understanding that the body and mind of the five aggregates do not truly exist, one cannot fundamentally solve the problem. For all phenomena are ultimately the same. It is not only about maintaining the stillness of the mind alone, but also about encompassing all things in stillness, forming a unified state of great samadhi. Thus, one naturally returns to stability, and all phenomena return to stability. Since all are the true nature, there are no illusory appearances. Therefore, one naturally abides in one's true nature without being moved, and will not be disturbed by these illusory appearances.
In this way, one naturally uncovers and discovers one's original mind. When a person's mind is free from thoughts, it naturally becomes clear and everything becomes clear. Without generating thoughts, this state is to give rise to true wisdom from the truth. This is that wisdom.
