What Keeping A Dream Journal Can Do For You
I started my dream journal way back in 2014. It was a kind of a spur of the moment thing because -at the time- I actually only wrote my dreams down in order to tell it them to my sister. She'd always complained about my horrible ability to explain stuff on the fly and I figured that it was a sound solution.

Time is not on your side
What if the world saw time differently? My job takes me into many different people's lives. From the mentally ill, the doctors you look up to, even the top 1% but the ones I am surprised most with are the average people. The average person is the one who really makes the world turn. But what makes someone extraordinary like the doctors, millionaires, billionaires, ya know the top people we look up too. And what keeps average people from joining what some call “The Elite.”

Self Love For 'Devalued' Kids. Top Story - October 2021.
It's no secret that the early years of our lives shape who we become as adults. Isn't it frightening how so much of our childhood is out of our hands? A devalued kid is someone raised with little to no praise, validation, positivity, or acceptance. The result is things like poor self-esteem, passive-aggressive or avoidance behavior, and people-pleasing personalities. Such behaviors may have begun as survival or coping mechanisms. As grown-ups, it feels as if we left our parents' house and packed the wrong baggage. We've held onto the baggage for so long we don't how else to live. We don't know where or how to start building the right tools we need to let ourselves grow into our potential. Omar Hameed describes The Devalued Self in The Devalued Self: Childhood Emotional Abandonment, Devaluation of the Self, and Anxiety:

The Case for: Hand Sewing
Not to detract from the purpose and need for a sewing machine, but hand sewing is a quiet place of concentration that just cannot be found at the machine. Instead of frustration from bobbins and broken needles, there is just the work. Pure and simple and full of purpose.

"Hey, Fellow Vocalites; it's your buddy, Kent. How are you doing today...?" No; HOW are you doing today? ...You don't even owe me (or anyone else, for that matter) the most honest answer to that question in a given moment. It can be awkward enough to honestly pinpoint "how you're doing" (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) in the nanoseconds between hearing the question until an answer is expected. I do, however, encourage you to take a moment and reflect on that answer for yourself.

It Might Not Be “Aesthetics,” But Medication Is Self Care Too
After about six years of convincing myself that it would be weak to take them, I found myself in the doctors office asking for medication. With my voice wavering, sweat gathering on my upper lip and eyes squinting under the bright florescent lights, I explained to a stranger that I was at the end of my rope.

The Reasons Why I Write
I suppose I should introduce myself to my current and future subscribers since my Matilda article did manage to catch a bit of attention. Many of you might resonate with what I will be saying in this article and some of you might not know of my experience. I realize that my disability, or my experiences with it, will also make me stand out from most of the people on this site. In the end, I do hope that you will be taking the time to read what I have to say regarding this subject.
