Signs of Stress as a Caregiver
It doesn't matter if you have been thrown into caregiving, or you have had time to gradually become one. Either way, it can be very stressful and hard. Many caregivers still have to take care of their families and their loved ones. They may have their own house to care for, along with their parent's home too. Many continue to work full-time on top of their caregiver duties.

Helping Mental Health - One Edit at a Time
I’m a big lover of psychology (having taken it in university as part of my Criminology degree, along with various psychology diplomas and certificates later on - thanks Covid pandemic and online learning!), as I’m a lifelong learner. And importantly mental health seems to be at the forefront of the societal psyche at the moment (which is great for helping to end the stigma of mental health issues and conditions).

Empathy
Growing up I always felt different, awkward, and distant. Often times my mother caught me daydreaming because this world was too much for me. I grew up with seven siblings, all of which are nothing like me nor I like them. We also had endless family and friends in and out of our home, one would think I would have been happy. Actaully, it was quite the opposite. Feeling overwhelmed or having mood swings were a problem. My family couldn't understand my behavior, and I never discussed it with anyone so I just dismissed the signs.

Suicide Prevention
When I was 18, my whole world changed. I got a text from my sister-in-law saying “I’m sure you’ve heard about AJ”. Nothing more except that my other brother might need to be checked on. I had no idea what she was talking about so I immediately texted her back to ask what was going on. She told me that it wasn’t her place to tell me and I should talk to my mom.

Dear Doctors and Insurance Companies
I Am Way Too Lazy for All That and Isn’t That What I Pay You For? In general I consider myself a take charge kind of guy. Mostly I like to be in control, no matter the situation I am in. However, in one area of my life, my health, I most definitely do not want to be in control. In fact I think I have proven over and over again throughout the course of my life that I am incapable of handling the responsibility. Simply put, I suck at health, specifically I suck at my own health. I am just plain terrible at taking care of myself. When it comes to making healthy choices in food or engaging in healthy, low risk activities I fail again and again. Don’t even get me started on avoiding unhealthy and dangerous habits because I don’t. I am all over those.
