Feeling Better through Bibliotherapy
When you’re in a difficult phase of your life, it can be overwhelming to think of where to begin to dig yourself out again. Sometimes you can feel so low that all the usual advice – exercise, sleep, see friends, set goals – can seem very overwhelming. Reading can feel like a chore for those that don’t enjoy it. But, if you’re someone who loves to be sucked into a good book, bibliotherapy can be a perfect way to move through grief, stress, or a hard time in your life.

Second Life
The wind was sharp as knives against the bare parts of his face. The man tugged at the loose hanging edges of his scarf, tightening it. With every step the blistering cold night air pierced its way through the multiple layers of clothing he had tightly packaged himself in. Her could feel his fingers and toes start to burn despite the handmade knit socks and gloves he wore. His mother had made them for him two christmases ago.

The Quantum Hour
“You got a cig, bro?” Bill asks walking by with his crew. “Nah, man,” I reply, both of us aware of the lie and that he’d reached full-tilt. Starring at me blankly - he does this frequently and I never know what he’s thinking or seeing - he mutters something to his posse and bounces.

Run For It
The train jerked forward and I collapsed in my seat, fumbling the zipper on my jacket to make sure I still had it. The envelope. I squeezed my hands around the stack of bills inside, just to feel it was real. I wiped sweat from my forehead, shrugged out of my jacket, tucking the crisp white envelope under my leg. The only way to know it was real was to touch it, keep it close to my body. The train rocked the brick of money into my sore, tired leg.

Hidden Identities
It was a grey, cold morning. The kind of grey and cold you only have the miserable privilege of enduring when you live in a spectacular house on the lake. The winters here are beautiful, but miserable. A special kind of sarcastic fuck you from mother nature herself.
