Dealing With An Angry Person
Everyone is periodically faced with an angry person and can be challenging to deal with. I'd like to share a few ideas on how to react to another's anger, whether it's a spouse, friend, or even a stranger. Some of these will also apply if you are angry yourself, which of course is something to avoid in the first place.

anxiety
Anxiety. Such a small and seemingly harmless word. To the people who are lucky enough not to have it, congrats. You will never know the struggle that we face while trying to complete the smallest tasks. The struggle that we face when we use the curling iron and then have to leave the house. After checking for the third time that you did in fact unplug it when you already knew that you did, you can breathe a little easier. To the people lucky enough not to have it, congrats. You will never know what its like to have to kiss your dog the same about of times each time you leave them for fear that something may happen to them if you don't. Or how you have to send your mom the exact same text message before bed for fear that if you don't something may happen to her. Checking the door locks before bed is fun right? Y'all know what I'm talking about. Or maybe you don't if you don't have anxiety.

What Attracts Also Repels
The young man ducked his head and stared at his feet, hunching his shoulder up towards his ears. We had been given an assignment: state our name, if we were employed or at school, and one thing we appreciated about ourselves. He was stumped; just shook his head from side to side.

All About Crescent City and Drug Rehabs
Crescent City, Florida. A sweet little town nestled about halfway in-between Deland, FL, and St. Augustine, FL, makes Crescent Lake home to around 2,000 individuals. Situated mid-way between North and Central Florida and about an hour and a half to two hours from larger cities like Jacksonville, FL, Crescent City gets the best of both worlds.

Time To Let Go
I can comfortably write about this topic now after so many years have passed me by. It was the summer of 1980 when this happened and it is now 2021 (41 years have gone by) I really did not believe that I have not been able to open up earlier than this, or maybe it was that I have just not been mentally equipped until this moment in time actually arrived to deeply think about. It was so very long ago. I am 51 now, and after working within the field of mental health nursing and having to leave this career after 30+ years after contracting Covid-19 in 2020, and recognizing how lucky I had been to recover after requiring hospital care & Oxygen therapy - being able to safely come home alive to my loving wife has suddenly switch on a 'light' within my heart.

Him.
My eyes were wide, wider than usual. They darted, backward and forwards, backwards and forwards. They didn’t rest for more than a second, I took in as much as I could, in as little time as possible. My surroundings felt different, maybe a little tense. I glanced to the left, I saw a glass of wine (the usual), then my eyes shot right, my phone and car keys, I think I drove here … but where am I?

A Path To Stillness
You may have experienced it. The moment when you find yourself in perfect stillness, or looking back and realizing in surprise that for a stretch of time you thought of absolutely nothing at all. There are many names and versions of this sensation, most recently collected under the umbrella of mindfulness. Meditation teachers tell us to focus on the breath, to be alert and relaxed, to let everything be present, to let thoughts rise and fall like waves. It all sounds so peaceful and quiet.

Internal Battle
Hello. My name is Brittany and I am currently 22 years old. I want to talk about the reason why I started sharing my work on Vocal. For several years I have battled anxiety and depression. Which is worse, I am not sure. Sometimes they work together, and other times it’s as though they’re working separately. Every single day is a struggle. Some days are worse than others, and some days are relatively good days. Most days are normal. Normal for me is something I wish nobody would ever have to experience especially daily. Everything I write is inspired by my own personal experiences. I want to share these in the hopes that maybe they will reach someone who desperately needs to know that they are not alone.
